Every one keeps bringing up the free throw's Valley missed, but never mention the wide open three's Elliott missed! I am talking about the ones that were easy looks that they almost always hit and there were several! I am pretty sure I counted 9(been a while since watched video)! If they hit three of those + the 4 freethrows they missed that is a 10pt Elliott win, but you give Valley the 9 throw's they missed and EC still wins by one!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its hard to compare 3 pointers to free throws. Free throws are hit with much more accuracy than 3 pointers. Missing 10 free throws in a row is a much bigger deal than missing 9 3 pointers.

You are right! But you only have to make three of the three's to equal the FT's! That is no problem for the EC boy's(and everyone know's it) When they aren't having a bad overall day which they were!!!!!!!!!! They also missed FT's(4 of them)!

It'll work out at Rupp. Isn't Elliott,SV,Holmes ,and Scott CO. all in the bottom bracket?

And yes, i do believe they will all make it there from their regionals.

If the main teams all come out of their regions this is shaping up to be a great Sweet 16! There could be huge crowds this year.

Holmes is too low. Don't know about Elliott Co. being number one. I have seen them play several times and like a lot they do. Played a tough schedule in Beach Ball Classic. That's what is nice about Ky. Basketball, all will get a chance to prove who is number 1 in a couple weeks.

Shelby Valley is ranked 3rd and unless I am mistaken only has 1 win over a top 25 team.

Scott Co. is ranked 2nd and has 10 wins over other top 25 teams.

Elliott Co. is ranked 1st and only has 3 wins over top 25 teams. I would also guess that Elliott hasn't played anyone else who would be considered a top 50 team in Kentucky.

In a recent 5-day span, Elliot County notched double-digit wins over Ballard and Mason County. That combined with 24-2 record where the only losses were against strong teams should validate their place in the rankings.

 

I'm not saying an opinion that Scott County or Holmes is #1 is wrong. You can certainly make a case. But, a strong case can be made for Elliot County as well. I think you'd have a better argument if Elliot hadn't recently beat Ballard and Mason County by 14 and 15 points, respectively.

Scott Co. beat Ballard 90-70 on December 4 @ Scott County.

Holmes beat Ballard 45-42 on December 20 @ Bryan Station.

Elliot Co. beat Ballard 89-75 on February 14 @ Elliot County.

 

Scott Co. beat Mason Co. 71-64 on January 9 @ Scott County.

Elliot Co. beat Mason Co. 86-71 on February 10 @ Elliot County.

 

Scott Co. beat Anderson Co. 64-49 on December 29 @ Montgomery County.

Elliot Co. beat Anderson Co. 76-72 on January 10 @ Montgomery County.

 

All the losses for each team have been to strong opponents.

 

Elliot Co. (24-2) - One in state loss to Shelby Valley, 55-52 in All "A" Classic.

Scott Co. (22-3) - One in state loss to Holmes, 70-65.

Holmes (25-2) - Lost to Bryan Station, 86-72, and Boone County 45-38.
