  1. This is a great college choice for Vance and a good fit. He was one of the best players in the state and should have been considered for Mr. Basketball. Take Vance off of Franklin Co.'s team and they are under .500, no doubt. Remove Justice from Shelby Valley and his team would still probably win their region. I am not trying to put down Justice at all because he is a great player, but if they switched spots and Vance was on Shelby Valley instead of Justice, he would have stronger statistical numbers and they would still have won the title. Once again, not putting down Justice because he is a great talent, just saying Vance is better. He also should've been UK's walk-on choice, but I think he's better off playing at Wright State than being UK's practice scrub anyway!
  2. franklin countys last three games have been wins over recently #6 Male,#10 West Jessamine and #24 Lafayette.
  3. It should be a better game but I would guess a final of 4-1 in FC's favor if Riddle and Thompson both pitch. FC's score will be much lower but it should still be enough to beat Western Hills with Thompson at the mound.
  4. One question I have is Orlando Rutledge from Fern Creek. Seeing them play twice the past summer he was their shooting guard and was not 6'6'' but about 6'0''. Anyone know about this kid?
  5. They've obviously finalized the roster to KY/OH but will they replace him in the KY/IND tryout.
  6. I doubt it has ever happened but it did this year, Brandon Housely.
  7. I know there is lots of politics in this but I'm not sure how a player can lead a middle of the pack regionally ranked team to the top of the rankings in the toughest region and not even be invited to the tryouts.

  9. I would assume that's at least three point contest and dunk contest? Who would compete in these for KY?
  10. First Round 1 Hazard 1 Adair Co. 1 Central 1 Eastern 1 Lexington Catholic 1 Holmes 1 Shelby Valley 1 Elliott Co. Semi-Final Round 2 Adair Co. 2 Eastern 2 Lexington Catholic 2 Elliott Co. Championship Game 3 Eastern 3 Elliott Co. 2009 KHSAA Sweet 16 Champion 5 Elliott Co.
  11. Jackson has the most upside of point guards, and may be the best point in his class, but Ethan Faulkner is the best true point in the state throwing in all the factors. Ball handling, vision, shooting, strength, heart, and leadership.
  12. Are you saying Jackson shoots better than Turner, or the opposite??
  13. Phares would definitely make a huge difference inside, but no excuses for the amount of turnovers doing the same thing over and over. Agree Scott County is way different with Phares and he is the best player on this team, but he is not a point guard or a human press breaker. I just can't get over SC's poor attempts to break the press. Even without coach's word doesn't a player maybe think to himself, "Oh no! My buddy is in trouble! There are 3 or 4 guys on him and he needs help! Maybe I should trot towards him to save him!"
  14. I absolutely hate when people say you should swallow the whistle at the end. That is an unfair advantage to the defense. In the rules it states what a foul is and says nothing about when in the game it is or isn't a foul. IT ALWAYS IS. I know of refs swallowing the whistle to end a teams season and it isn't right. This was the right call because there was contact on the arm and with the body. Unwritten rules ruin basketball!!! Just like the unwritten rule of traveling/extra steps in the NBA hurts it.
  15. Yes you do. A foul is a foul and that was obviously a foul. I don't understand how you can say that. Don't call a foul with little contact on a half court heave at the last second (Mason vs. Clark regular season) but definitely call a foul on a shot at the rim with obvious contact. If you don't call a foul the team shooting has no chance because you can just tackle him right?
  16. Disagree, the Lakers would still make the playoffs. Just like Scott County would've still won if they had any type of press breaker, or Ge-Lawn didn't take a contested baseline hook shot with 25 seconds and a 1 point lead. Scott County had 4 players on their end of the half court line and one player, usually Jackson, try to dribble through the press himself or throw a full court pass against it. Sounds like a great press breaker to me :idunno: . I really don't understand how the coaches do not at least put someone in the middle or let two people try to dribble through it instead of one. Scott County's FG % had to be ridiculous, especially in the second half. If everything they threw up didn't go in, it would've been a 15 point game. Guyn was on fire from three (hitting contested threes multiple times) and I think he is hardly above 30% on the year if that. Jackson, I think, was 2-2 from three and I'm pretty sure his last lable would be a shooter. Great win by Catholic and Vee Sanford is a player. His floater is the prettiest I've seen, and that is a very hard shot to master. Taylor Botkin also had a monster tournament, and clutch free throws by the youngster Martin. Jaylen Beckham has got to be the best 6th man in the state. Scott County is like the Lakers in that they still are top 5-10 without Phares, and top 5 without Phares but add a game plan. Take Lebron away from the Cavs and they are below average :thumb: !!
  17. I know you're not a Generals fan so please, enlighten me...
  18. Lexington Catholic was also loaded in 95 but were demolished in the finals by the underdog, Franklin County.
  19. Which team in this tournament is in the same district as Moore?
  20. Interesting match-up after the articles on the father-son bonds and histories of Prince Stewart, Sr. and Big Vince Sanford!
