I know there is lots of politics in this but I'm not sure how a player can lead a middle of the pack regionally ranked team to the top of the rankings in the toughest region and not even be invited to the tryouts.

Barrett Meyer of Franklin County definitely needs to be on the list.

When and how are these kids notified of these tryouts?

Just looking at the list, off the top of my head hes the 1 big omission I see.

Maybe this will be corrected in the coming days.

Two big omissions---Barrett Meyer (Franklin County) and 6'6" 240 lb. Leonard Macon (Taylor County) who is a MAN CHILD on the inside.

Saw both probably 15 games this past summer on the Derek Smith All Star team and they are quality deserving players. 5 of the 8 Kentuckians on that team made the list including Ferguson, Evan/Ethan Faulkner, Clevenger, and Donovan. Richie didn't probably because he is hurt.

Have to agree with you, they are both arguably on a list for top 15 in the state, to make the top 40 list, there should be no argument. You always want to look at a great shooter with high skills and basketball IQ and there

is no more explosive to the rimm post player in the state than Leonard, after Richie's injury, I would have thought Leonard was a "must look"

but there has always been a certain amount of politics around the Kentucky-Indiana team which transcends just trying to win.

I know this process has evolved over the past few years with the involvement of the KABC running the tryouts. It think the breakdown now of who gets tryouts are as follows: 1) 16 KABC region players of the year. 2) Top 10 vote getters as voted on by coaches throughout the state. 3) 10 selected by statewide media. 4) 4 selected by a committee that includes the head coach and the game chariman.

There are always going to be deserving players left off. But I will say that the process is a whole lot better than it used to be.

Is that Peter Griffin on the right side of that article?

I am proud to see 12th Region Player of the Year Ethan Spurlin (Lincoln County) on the list of invities.

 A real life cartoon guy!

I was hoping Brandon Rash from Montgomery Co. would be invited to the try-outs.

How often does a bench player get invited to try out?
