Hood, Jon, Madisonville North Hopkins Middleton, Russ, Mason Co.

Ballou, Darren, Adair Co. Penny, C.J., Anderson Co.

Butler, DeLon, Apollo Sanford, Vee, Lexington Catholic

Faulkner, Ethan, Elliott Co. Wilford, Corey, Christian Co.

Faulkner, Even, Elliott Wilson, Aaron, Fulton City

Jackson, Corey, Shawnee Wilson, Ridge, Central

Congratulations to the guys selected, but I am surprised not to see a few guys selected. Chris Dowe in the 3 games I seen him this year was very impressive. Also Mosley had a great year from Moore. To be honest I have heard very little about Jackson, Butler, or Aaron Wilson. Good luck to the team!

The best 3 guards at the try-outs were left off the team. Kentucky is in a world of hurt in this series this year. When you pick the team based on politics instead of talent you shouldn't expect anything else. Indiana will win by as many as they want.

Which 3 are you talking about?

Would like to have seen Meyer(Franklin Co.) and Rogers(Dunbar) make it. Good luck to the team, Indiana looks like they have a good team.

Team is not picked on politics anymore. There were 13 region coaches of the year that selected the team. There are always good players left off of this team due to the fact that 40 try out and only 12 earn spots.

If these 3 guards are the best in KY(better than Dowe) then Ky should be in great shape. The kid led his team to the 7th region championship and was region player of the year. Gotta believe that has some merit. I differ in opinion that Chris Dowe isn't as good as the guards that they kept. Don't know what the coaches are looking for but, would love to know how they rated guys.

Dowe was one of the best 3 guards! He, along with Mosley and Sloan were clearly the best three guards there. They were quicker, stronger, jumped higher, and could get to the rim. One guard was selected because of the ties he has to the coach. The other two guards that made it had good seasons but if you based this team on tryouts alone there is no way you could keep them. Indiana would have dominated us in the post this year anyway but now they will dominate us in every aspect of the game. Kentucky isn't putting their best twelve guys in uniform this summer and when we get blown out twice, you can say I told you so.

I haven't seen the Butler kid from Apollo, but I can tell you why the coaches kept some of the guards they did ... quickness and athleticism. Wilford and Aaron Wilson certainly fit that bill.

Wilson should have made the team, no doubt about that. Wilford probably deserved to make it as well. Here is my complaint - if you told this same coaching staff they were taking over at a college next year and they could take any twelve of these guys to make their team I bet you they wouldn't take over 6 of them at the most. Indiana takes their best 12 guys. They always have and they always will. It is easy to understand why they have dominated KY lately and will continue to. Kentucky had the opportunity to have a very special group of guards this year. Although some of them were small, they were lightning quick and could score in a number of ways. No one at the tryouts is any more athletic than Chris Dowe. His team lost 2 or maybe 3 games all season long playing in the ultra tough 7th region, yet he can't make the All Star team?

OK, I'll bite ... which six would you not keep?

Indiana dominates because they have more top-shelf talent, year-in and year-out.

Indiana also does the whole process differently. Their top 40 workout is more of a showcase than anything else. They already have the team chosen based on what the kids did during the year.

I agree with westsider - Indiana consistantly has higher level players than KY.

I'm not going to call out individual kids that shouldn't have made the team, but there is no way you can justify Eric Mosley and Chris Dowe not making the team. They, along with Hood, A. Wilson, and Middleton impressed me a great deal. I just don't think KY did themselves any favors by leaving some kids off that could have helped them a great deal. Indiana is big and skilled and we're in a heap of trouble.

As a fan of the 7th region I gotta say that I didn't realize that our kids couldn't match up with the rest of the state. I believe that this is the second consecutive year that the 7th district won't be represented. We must have some great coaches!

I disagree politics is a part of this when you look at the players selected you got a name game going on here. And let's be clear on one thing names don't win games.
