HC wins the 8th region All A championship on a last second 3-pointer at the buzzer. Owen had taken the lead with 4.2 seconds to go and Henry drove the length of the court and hit about a 28 footer as the buzzer sounded. Good luck Wildcats at Richmond against Shelby Valley.

I hope I got this right I am pretty sure it is. What a great ball game! Owen hits a 15 ft jumpshot with 4 seconds left to put them up by 2, then HC end bounds the ball and get it to #23 Connor Jeffries who puts up a 30 footer nothing but net at the buzzer. The score may not be right because I have been so excited about the win I didnt think about it. Good luck to the Cats at Richmond, can't wait to watch you all!

P.S. I dub this team the luckiest team I have ever seen. They are 5 for 5 on game winning threes this year. :thumb:

^They are indeed riding a lucky streak right now. Hopefully they can take it to Richmond with them. Shelby Valley is a very good basketball team. Take it to 'em. Could a mod please merge these threads.

They definately are. I really hope we can make the 8th proud in Richmond. We have an awfully tall challenge right away, but who knows?

You left a part out of the end of the game description. Between the 15 ft jumpshot and the game winning shot. Here it goes: After the Marston hits the 15 footer to go up by 2, Henry calls timeout with 3.1 left on the clock. During the timeout, Henry's player walks through Owen County's team and shoves a player. The ref, Knollman, runs over and gets in the Henry kids face and yells at him to get back to the bench. Owen's coach wants a technical and rightfully so. This is a joke these days, no consequences for losing control of your emotions. Coldiron spends several minutes explaining to Owen's coach why they did not call a T, in the meantime they change the clock from 3.1 to 4.2 seconds. What a turn of events? Not only a no call on technical foul, they get more time added. And oh by the way Knollman cost Owen the number seed in the district 2 years ago in a home game against Gallatin. Just like the last time Knollman does not call a T he does it again and costs those boys from Owen a trip to Richmond.

These refs are way too caught up these days in making no calls or not making calls and doing too much preventative refereeing. It should have been 2 free throws for Owen and the ball and a trip to Richmond.

I didn't see the shove, but the clock thing was right. The whistle blew and time kept running off. I have no clue about the technical, but its whatever. You could at least congratulate HC for the win. I was at the OC GC game 2 years ago and I don't know what your talking about there. Anyways, it was a great game by both teams and I can't wait for Richmond!

Congrats to HC, they get the win.. Your right sportsmaniac, lot of people thinking about that moment 2 years ago. It was a technical then but not tonight..?? You was reading my mind.

I didnt see the push, where on the court and exactly what happened?? I will be the first to tell you if it shouldve been a technical whether it was my team or not, but I didnt see it.

HC's player walks through Owen's almost timeout huddle and shoves Owen's player. Knollman runs in and yells at Henry's player in his face. Knollman saw everything and Coach Duvall was hot as was the rest of the Owen coaching staff. Yes Henry hit a big shot, but those boys from Owen kept their emotions in check did not swing back or anything else. The T should have been called.

If the OC player didnt say anything back or do anything first then it sounds like it should have been. I wish I wouldve have seen it. Was it a hard shove and do you know which player it was?

Alright I'll explain to you what happened 2 years ago at Owen....Josh Giles punched an OC player and Knollman called a technical on the Owen player and cost them the game, a #1 district seed, and a trip to the regional tourny. Back to the present, until 2:30 left in the game Henry had shot 22 free throws compared to Owen's 2FT. That is ridiculous.

Just give it time the Owen faithful and others will be on here backing me up. I don't have a dog in the fight. I was basketball fan coming to watch a game tonight. I was not for Owen or Henry. I just know what I saw and what those boys from Owen are going through.
