Kentucky Scrimmages in Windsor

From what little I have seen, Cal has a lot of work to do on the defensive side with this team. That was the strength of last year's team, they were great defensively.

In the interior, I would agree about the defense. I'm confident Cal will get the guards defending, but I'm worried about the lack of size down low. For me, the three big causes for concern for the 2010-11 squad are: 1) Rebounding 2) Interior defense 3) Depth.

I think once you get Kanter in there, your first two concerns will be minimized pretty quickly.

We did great but let's be realistic if we don't have Jones, Vargas, and Kanter playing at their highest level we will be foolish to think that we seriously have a chance to win the SEC or a NCAA Championship! However, I love my CATS and bleed Blue and White but what i've stated is reality in my opinion and I hope I'm dead wrong this year!

Go Big Blue!

We know, we know, they should've kept Pilgrim...

I'll trust Cal's opinion over your's...

I wasn't even going to bring that up. Obviously it was the right move, since Pilgrim did get in some trouble there at OSU. So I was wrong I admit that.

So I guess you think Harellson will be able to help this team? If so then why? Please don't tell me because of how he looks in these games. He has always looked like a great player since he has been at UK against bad teams.

Same old same old from Kentucky again today. Knight is fast and this team really likes to run. Maybe even more so then last year??!! Miller is tough and if he remains aggressive this season with his frame and skill I think he can be the leader we need. Liggins also is impressing me this three game stint. Can't wait to see the rest of the bigs on the court. These are practices against lesser squads but the guys are playing tough.

If you remember they weren't so great defensively early in the year last year. They allowed all kinds of open looks early. Just like with last years team, the defense will get better.

Haven't watched these games, so how he looks now against anyone is irrelevant to me. I think yes, he will help the team much more than a player like Pilgrim would have. Neither would see the court much. From the sounds of things, Harrellson is okay with the role he's in, and is willing to come in for however long is necessary and bang and foul and spell guys. Any type of production he provides is icing on the cake. Pilgrim doesn't sound like he would've been okay with that kind of role. Harrellson is a team guy, Pilgrim is a "me" guy.

Pilgrim would have seen the court much more this year IMO, than Harellson. I don't think its even close to who is the better player. The 2nd half of the year for OSU, Pilgrim really started to get it going. So I don't think he would be a role player this year who barely plays like Harellson will be this year. So wouldn't have to worry about him being upset not playing much, because he would have got more minutes. However since he apparently likes to get in trouble off the court, he might not have played anyways. That would have been the problem with him.

Haven't read the thread, just got home not too long ago. The team looked good in person but of course a lot of silly mistakes will be made in August. The guys played hard and showed flashes of greatness followed by silly mistakes. One thing is for sure, they will run, run, run all year long. From watching live three things stuck out to me.

1) Darius seemed to have a lot more hops and bounce in his step. Is that just me? Also liked seeing him play inside abunch.

2) Besides Polson, I believe Liggins was the easy fan favorite. He played full out, 120% every second he was in the game and he played very well. Much improved IMO.

3) Brandon Knight is QUICK.

They've got a long way to go. Need people to get and stay healthy (and eligible) and they'll be a fun team to watch this year.

As far as the trip goes, it was amazing! Won 200$ at Caesers!

How did ya like Caesers?

Never been to a casino before (considering I'm 20) but I loved it. I was surprised at the age group that was mostly there but it makes sense. The majority was older aged people but I guess they've got the money to spend! Many Kentucky fans in there. I didn't fool with the slots, I spent most of my time at the Texas Hold Em' Bonus table. If I was smarter I could've doubled my winnings but I was very satisfied. Very nice sports bar inside the Casino along with several other bars but they were a bit pricey. I would love to go back before I turn 21.
