FormerCawoodTrojan Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 List your top 5 Current NFL QB's as well as your top 5 All-Time NFL QB's. I'll start and be the first one to get blasted.... :idunno: Current: Brady -- Peyton -- Ben -- Warner -- Brees All Time: Montana -- Elway -- Brady -- Marino -- Peyton Of course i'm only going to comment on players that i've watched. No Unitas, Namath, etc...
JPP Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 This is difficult because we all have to try to weigh in the importance of winning the big games and performance in them. Your weighting system must be very close to mine, because I like your choices. I would love to try to work Unitas in there somewhere however, and would probably put him in Peyton's spot.
Wireman Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 All Time: 1. Montana 2. Marino 3. Elway 4. Aikman 5. Young Now: 1. Brady 2. P. Manning 3. Warner 4. Brees 5. E. Manning
halfback20 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 All Time: 1. Montana 2. Marino 3. Elway 4. Aikman 5. Young Now: 1. Brady 2. P. Manning 3. Warner 4. Brees 5. E. Manning I think Roethlisberger goes in ahead of Brees/Eli, for now.
Wireman Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I think Roethlisberger goes in ahead of Brees/Eli, for now. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about his game that I dislike.
spindoc Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I don't know what it is, but there's just something about his game that I dislike. It's the 2 rings.
5wide Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Brees, Rivers I'd have Carson Palmer on the list if he could stay healthy. I'll see how he does in '09. Brady, Montana, Elway, Manning, Marino
5wide Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I don't know what it is, but there's just something about his game that I dislike. He's inconsistent. He can go from looking great to looking bad...but, his ability to make plays and raise his level of play late in games overrides any bad performances, IMO. And, the two rings.
spindoc Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Now: Brady Manning Roethlisberger Brees Warner All Time: Montana Marino Elway Bradshaw Young
halfback20 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 He's inconsistent. Eli does the same thing. I remember more than a few games where Eli has played fairly bad, but pulled it together in the 4th quarter to lead the Giants to victory.
bball500 Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Now - Manning Brady Warner Brees McNabb All Time - Elway Farve Marino Manning Brady
Clyde Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 The all-time list is a challenge. The old guys had receivers who were allowed to be mauled while the guys have receivers who can't be touched.
FormerCawoodTrojan Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 The all-time list is a challenge. The old guys had receivers who were allowed to be mauled while the guys have receivers who can't be touched. It is very tough. There were so many that I wanted to name. And you are right about the rules being changed...so different back then.
hoopboy Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Now: Brady, Peyton, Brees, Big Ben, Eli All Time: Favre, Elway, Montana, Marino, and Jeff Hostetler.....just kidding, Brady.
