Brett Favre is not one of the greatest QB's. He has the records but took a lot longer to get them than any of the QB's he passed.

There are so many great quarterbacks throughout time that I have no problem with this. However, his performance goes well beyond stats and his rings speak for themselves. I remember a playoff game against my Steelers where I felt the secondary played incredible. Brady shredded them even though receivers were well covered all game. When he and McNabb both struggled to hit anyone in the first half of the superbowl, I was beyond irate.

I quickly realized he carried them there and did win the big one in the second half!:thumb:

I wouldn't list him quite that high but we are in a generation that looks at numbers without a total understanding of what those numbers actually mean in the big picture. Manning is like a very minature Marino. He is a great passer but doesn't quite complete the picture. In my opinion Marino was the best pure passer of all time but he was not the best quarterback.

I think some people separated the two. They didn't include current guys as options for the all-time list. I could be wrong about that though.
