I got a question say if Meeks ends up not playing the rest of the year. Is there anyway he would be able to appeal for a 5th year of eligibility when the time comes? I know just redshirting him this year would have assured that. But since he really hasn't played to much, I wasn't sure if there was a chance he could appeal for a 5th year or something?

I think it's just best to go ahead and shut him down for the year. He isn't going to do anything but make the problem worse by playing on it. Go get surgery, get it taken care of and heal up for 08-09.

Probably so. It's not like he has any chemistry with the current group anyway. He hasnt played with them enough this year to develop it. It's great to have great players, but I dont know that Meeks would be that this year.

There are some rumblings that Jodie Meeks has been diagnosed with a sports hernia and will see a specialist this week, ultimately resulting in season ending surgery.

Have not seen anything solid on this but this is the latest scuttlebutt.

At the very beginning when his injury was announced I said somewhere on this board that his injury was worse than publicized and is more than likely out for the year. I guess I was right.:D

He's gotta do what's best for him. I think he's a though kid who will try and play two weeks from now. I also believe that a 60% Jodi Meeks is still more effective than a 100%Ramon Harris. Defense's have to honor him alot more than they do a Mark Coury or Harris and Jasper even. How crappy would it be if his possible 5th year eligible came down to that one time he was inserted into a blow out loss and it pushed him over the limit.
