I wish this game was played a little later in the day with more people in attendance. Martin County has a rare 15th region talent in Parker Watts, who I think is 1st team all state material. As for the game, Lyon has played a much tougher schedule, and I would make them a small favorite. It should be very fast paced to open up the boys action on Thursday!

Underwhelmed by Scott County per usual. Trinity seemed like the better team. Won't be shocked if Corbin plays them tough.

I was looking forward to getting to see this young man play. How many points difference is he worth. I don't know exactly what the situation is but any shot that Mason upsets TC and he plays Round 2?

A couple of factors come to mind in this type of matchup. Offense may be at a premium and I suspect Murray will defend Buckhorn very well. Bigger court will play a huge factor imo. Murray coming off 3 straight games on college court and BHS, to my knowledge has played 0 games on a 94ft court. Grit and heart is is one thing that can't be matched, however. I'm saying Murray 51-34

I was running through some games/stats for Taylor; not sure if it has been mentioned within this thread yet but how many games have they lost when Gaines has been in uniform. He appears to be quite the difference maker.

They have 8 varsity players and then the 3 young kids. 11 total

Sheldon Clark just has low numbers throughout the program and then a few players quit. They only traveled with 8 to Lexington but after the first game or two they decided to call a few jv players to come down, in case of serious foul trouble. Bluenation, to answer your question #3 is in 8th grade as is #12. The other kid that saw action is in 6th grade. These 3 players along with the rest of there middle school team plays the high school's jv and freshmen schedule.

Sheldon Clarks 4th game in as many days, ran out of gas late in the first half. With only 8 varsity players on the team it's hard to play consecutive days. Freshmen Justin Johnson who had a double double including 17 rebounds against Bowling Green was hampered with injury and virtually ineffective today against Scott. All in all I consider this a successful trip for the SC team as they picked up a quality win against Oldham County in the opening round. Going 1-3 in Lexington and facing quality teams/programs goes much further than sticking around the mountains of EKY and playing local teams.

Agree with the above post. This was my first time of going to the tourney multiple days and I fell back in love with high school hoops again after getting away from it for a few years. I absolutely had a blast at Catholic the past few days. The whole thing is 2nd to none.

I left at half time of this game and it looks like the 2nd half played out much like the first. Ballard has a very good ball team. The most impressing thing I noticed was the youth in the starting line up. The 3 underclassmen play well above their age. Is it perhaps, that the 3 best teams in KY are from the same region?
