For the 15th time in school history, the Royals are in the Sweet 16. First-year Royals coach Buddy Biggs is making his second appearance as a head coach (Pendleton County 2005). Mason is led by sensational point guard Pig Williams.

Taylor County repeated as 5th Region champs, and the Cardinals are led by the dynamic back court duo of Mr. Basketball candidate Quentin Goodin & David Sloan.

Who gets the victory?

I am voting Mason, solely because I can. I know nothing about TC outside of Mr. Goodin's recruitment.

So I am contributing nothing to this discussion except pure unadulterated homerism.

 WINNER.......love it lol

I'll go with TC, they have been playing better basketball and half 2 guards that can take over a game at any given time. The addition of Gains has seem to fill in the deficiency they had earlier in the season.

I'll have to play the I know nothing of Mason Co. card, other then hearing and reading about Pig Williams and his ability to play the game.

Going with Taylor Co. to move on.

I'll go Mason by 3 they are a great team that works hard and I feel like Pig Williams can guard anyone in the state!

I think this one will be a good one. I give the slight edge to Taylor.

Better have a second ace defender against Taylor. Sloan can beat you off the dribble or from outside.

TC guard play will have them advancing. Pig is an excellent defender but he can only guard one player at a time. Should be a good game with TC winning by 10 hitting free throws down the stretch. Will probably be more like a 5-6 point game for the most part until the final few minutes.

For what its worth...While it had several exciting games this season the 10th was down as a whole and I didn't see the winner of the 10th whom ever it was advancing in the state tournament.

Going with Taylor they have been playing much better ball of late. They seem to have came around and peaked and the right time. They could make a run at the title.

I voted MC...But unfortunately the star players get protected a lot during the State Tournament, so I think Goodin gets MC in foul trouble.

I will say Taylor by 15 plus. Guards are just way to good. Pig will not be allowed to play defense with hands so he will be in foul trouble. I see this much like the Paris game started but going zone will not help against Taylor because they can shoot the rock . Total miss match.

I am glad you are picking this way. you have not picked Mason yet in any of your predictions yet. So that means we have a chance. You are probably going to get one right soon.:laugh::laugh:

With the draw, I agree with you 100%.

I picked Taylor, but this will be a chance for Pig to show he can shut down another great athlete. Goodin does not shoot all that well outside the paint (46% FG, 24% on threes, and 71% FT) so Pig will be free to concentrate on shutting down the penetration, and not have to work so hard on denial. If Goodin settles for outside shots, MC pulls the upset. Hope Goodin takes the bait.
