Ok, this one should be interesting, and should be a great discussion. Perhaps the most wide open region in the state. Here's my take:

 

1 Betsy Layne (14-5) 11-0 in the region with wins over Pikeville and Johnson Central. Still one left with East Ridge should give a better clue. I'll call them the fave.

 

2 East Ridge (14-4) 8-2 in the region. They go to Pikeville tonight, and that will be a tough one. Many thought that beginning the season ER was the team to beat. End the season at JC, should be a good barometer

 

3 Johnson Central (12-5) 8-3 in the region. I know that many also slated JC to represent the 15th, and they may, but need consistency IMO to get thru the regional tourney. Parker drama at the beginning, Skaggs is solid and will be counted on heavily this post season. Freshman Shane Hall may be the wildcard.

 

4 Pikeville (14-5) 8-2 in the region. Host East Ridge tonight. Split with JC and beat East Ridge earlier on the road. I think that Pikeville may be the sleeper, if you can call them that. Basically a tossup region in my opinion, Pikeville gets hot, they can make it to Rupp, bottom line.

Betsy Layne followed by Johnson Central and Pikeville...the only other two contenders

That's a pretty good assessment. I agree that Betsy Layne is probably the favorite, but any of the others listed are more than capable of winning the region. The regional draw will be a huge factor in who heads to Rupp...
