I heard Portwood got a lot of looks from Colorado this past year until the end of the season when they went another way. The kid can shoot the lights out, he has some work to do on D though.

So where is he going?

I'd say it was pretty legitimate since Jackson was ruled eligible for next year BEFORE Euton was. If those kids are moving for "family problems", I'd say these kids at SC qualify just fine.

You can't move from in state and it be okay? Getting pretty tight in the northern part of the state arent they? Are these new guys coming from Cincy? That is a closer move than the kids going to SC are making.

Ha! They dominate the district and much of the region for years and all of a sudden they are a little ol' single A school. It's getting deep in here boys...

Get used to it. What are the odds a Middlesboro fan would come on making excuses and blaming it on the umpires?

A lot of AAU stuff falls within the days before the end of school and in the dead period. Coaches cant be on the floor with kids during those times. That is why you dont see a lot of coaches involved in AAU. There are the summer school squads, and a lot of the better teams do participate in that, but I would imagine the burnout many have talked about is a factor there.

Sounded like it was going to be a tough road to go anyway.

And...

Haven't heard about the new rule. Big thing with Shotwell is that he never moved. I believe they are going the route that he couldnt afford to pay for school at LCA and pay for gas, etc. We'll see how it turns out.

Jackson is already good to go. Believe they were supposed to hear about Euton either last week or this week. All seemed well for that one as well. No clue on the other kid, but wouldnt imagine a problem there either since they are/have moved.

Shotwell is back at SC, but speculation is that one ruling has been handed down on him as being ineligible for next year. They are going to all lengths to get him eligible with appeals and such though.

How many region winning coaches do you believe are out there and available in Eastern KY?

I believe I did hear there is one in Cincy next week.

McClung and Brown are both playing in the Hooter's event at Cherry Blossom this week.

Some coaches make it based on talent and experience. Middlesboro cant even do that. I know it was a dig at me, but helps me prove my point...

Typical response. Bell came from the Jimbo Terry years into the Whitaker years and made it to the region semi's the next year, region semi's the next one, and the region finals the following two years. Pretty sure they had some bad habits to break and they seemed to do okay, and that was when the region was actually pretty strong. I like Jones as a person, but he just doesnt have it to get it done. They need something else.

Says who? You? What does that mean to me? I think I know a little about it. And I know these Mboro teams havent reached their potential in the last 10-12 years. There is probably a general factor in all of that.

:thumb: It is also why these kids cant reach their potential. If there was someone there to develop these players, they very well could top 5 caliber players. You can't give a kid a top 5 label just based on potential either.
