BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Tyler Portwood of Scott County High School has signed to play his collegiate basketball with Union College.

 

Portwood, a 6-foot-4 forward, averaged 13.2 points per game, with 4.6 rebounds per contest. He made 40.2 percent of his 3-pointers during his senior season. From the field, he owned a 42.7 shooting percent.

Coach Kelly Combs is a very good recruiter. Portwood along with Aaron Dunaway shows it.

I heard Portwood got a lot of looks from Colorado this past year until the end of the season when they went another way. The kid can shoot the lights out, he has some work to do on D though.

Congrats to Portwood. He will be a great player for them.

Congrats to Tyler. I had the privilege to sit with his grandparents at the State Tourney. He will do great at Union.
