sweet16 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Good luck with that. There was a plan brought to Tackett and he was quick to turn it away.

rjs4470 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 I think 4 classes was two many. Either do 2 or 3. I think three fits very well in baseball, basketball, volleyball.
plantmanky Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Dont they have an all A state tournament like they do basketball?
Randy Parker Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 The more athletes are required for a sport, the more the need for classification IMO.

One Great Scorer Posted June 9, 2018 Author Posted June 9, 2018 Dont they have an all A state tournament like they do basketball? Yes. But when 10 of your schools have 1,000 kids in it, something needs to change. A small school in a good year is still almost never good enough to beat a big school in a bad year.
Jumper_Dad Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 It's hard to make a decision based one years enrollment numbers. I'd need to see several years worth of enrollment numbers to see how this trend is going.

KHSAA doesnt want to change the structure of the post season tournaments, which they would have to do. It means more work for them.
mcpapa Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 The more athletes are required for a sport, the more the need for classification IMO. This. Most of the sports (baseball, softball, soccer, track, FOOTBALL, etc.) make sense. Not so for basketball, volleyball, golf. And I never did understand why cross-country is classified.

It means more work for them. I meant it's hard for me to make an informed decision, just looking at one seasons numbers.
00Rocket28 Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 Not really sure where to post this, but apparently a Bowling Green journalist, Paul Gray collapsed on the field last night and later passed away. How awful.
