rockmom
I'm just going on record to say, I had no idea rabbit or squirrel were "exotic". Growing up, these along with freshly gigged frog legs were fairly normal offerings.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
Not really exotic, but while I was in England I tried a staple of their traditional breakfast, Black Pudding, which is fried pig's blood. It's served looking like a blackish sausage patty a little on the crispy side. It wasn't bad, and if I hadn't been told what it was I would've just thought that it was a burnt sausage patty, yet I still couldn't completely get past knowing what it was, so I only barely finished about half of it. I had black pudding over in the UK. I wasn't particularly huge on it, but I wasn't off-put either. Also tried blood sausage down in Puerto Rico. I wasn't a fan of it there. BigVMan23
probably ostrich and black bear would be the most "exotic" meat I've had. Liked the taste of the ostrich but it's very lean and I dried it out while cooking. The bear was just awful...greasy and tasted almost rancid to me. TAC
For me it had to be some type of sea urchin while in China. I'll pretty much try anything. Of the foods mentioned I think the only one i have missed have been yak, chitin, kangaroo and stingray?
Xtiger69
There is a restaurant in Louisville that pretty much has most of the animal kingdom on the menu it's called Game!
NKYknowitall
Squirrel, deer, elk, caribou, bison, gator, Ostrich Eggs and I think that's about it.
MJAlltheWay24
Until last year, mine was deer, which I thoroughly enjoy. Now it's goat. Had it in Jamaica and twice since we've been back. Not all that exciting. I'm not opposed to trying others, just haven't really been given the opportunity.
swamprat
I'm just going on record to say, I had no idea rabbit or squirrel were "exotic". Growing up, these along with freshly gigged frog legs were fairly normal offerings. I ate rabbit and squirrel a lot growing up. Frog legs, too. My maternal grandfather's favorite breakfast meat was hogs brains. We had cows tongue every time we slaughtered a calf. The best meat on a chicken is it's feet. When you ain't got a lot of money, not much goes to waste. A lot of what I ate as a kid is considered "exotic" now-a-days.
Bluegrasscard
Something unique at a restaurant that specializes in wild game in the foothills of the Rockies overlooking Boulder, Colorado. No idea what it was but it it did taste like chicken (or beef)...
