Dick Vories was an outstanding player at Newport and worthy of being on the top 4. He suffered an injury that cut short his senior year at Newport or I think he is on the list. On the other end of the spectrum, McIntosh actually played his freshman and sophomore years at Campbell County before moving to Newport and playing there for his junior and senior years. McIntosh was by far the dominant big man in the 9th Region his senior year.

Other Newport players who might be on the list:

David Schlosser

Eugene Pate

Mitch Mayes

Kenny Bell

Darrel "Bean" Bedford

Tom Laskey

Keith Greene

Tony Commodore

Dick Vories was so good that he was recruited and signed by the Baron, and he was going to go to UK in the fifties ... very strong athlete that sustained a catastrophic injury before he got to UK. Based on high school careers, I would put him and Turner way ahead of whoever is third.

That's him. Thanks.

Where do Dallas Thornton, George Tinsley and Wesley Cox fit in? Cox is one my of all-time favorite players.

OOOOOOHHHHHH THANK YOU! I definitely forgot about them. Wesley Cox is definitely top 5! Okay when you bring those in Mike isn't top 10. Let me revisit this list. Here's the top 10:

Darrell Griffith

Bobby Turner

Wesley Cox

Ralph Beard

Dallas Thornton

Winston Bennett

George Tinsley

Jason Osborne

GG Gordon

Henry Husky

For St.Henry

Bucky Steffen

Robbie Padgett

Dave Faust

Matt Fabiani

So who are you replacing on the list? Nestheide was good (went to Thomas More) and so was Eisenminger (killer baseline jumper). I would probably put Adam Goetz into the mix.

Jeff still holds the record for all time leading scorer for the men, correct?

Yes, I believe he is a few hundred ahead of Troy McKinley. Somewhere around 2,100.

Jay was one heckuva player. Remembering playing against him during summer ball at different parks.

How about Maysville High School before its doors were closed? There's gotta be some old timers out there to come up with a group.

Money talks!!!

This has a horrible look. Surely if you are going to throw it out you don't care to give an explanation.

Highly marketed player.

Highly marketed player.

No one will ever deny that there were some people who worked hard on Ross' behalf, yours truly played a very small role in that. That wasn't the implication of what you said previously, but hey it isn't the first time I have called you on something stupid you have said either.

What about Mike Arthur?

Tough to pick just 4 but for Johnson Central I would go with:

1. David Couch - Played for Coach K at West Point

2. Harry Meek - offered Full Ride at UofL for baseball and basketball (Played Baseball)

3. Tommy McKenzie - 6 of nine regional titles at school (1 player, 1 AC, 4 HC - still holds several records as an all state player)

4. Shane Hall - 2nd All Time in KY in blocked shots, 3 Time AP All State Player, Mr. Basketball Finalist, 220 dunks in his career (averaged almost 4 a game Freshman - Senior and missed over 20 games in his career due to injury)

There are many great players left off. Very tough question.
