Green County’s Modi Kouyate has been ruled ineligible and exemption denied by Khsaa. Last year, when he was declared eligible, he was classified as a 12th grader. Even though he was considered a junior and a member of the class of ‘26 by the school and all the recruiting sites, he was officially a 12th grader last year. The Khsaa has refused to change that. I have a hard time believing this is fair as the kid is only 17 but the Khsaa has now stood by the ruling they made last year that he has already completed 8 semesters of high school at the conclusion of last year’s spring semester.

Happy for the Pirates. A once proud program in Frankfort has fallen on hard times. Their numbers are extremely low, hope they can turn it around.

Their senior qb is injured and won’t return to health. Their running back has been absent for non-injury reasons and may be back. Even when healthy, they were a bit of a paper tiger. Their non district slate was extremely weak. I think a team like Paducah Tighlman wins by a running clock score even with a complete healthy squad.

First, this district 1 through 5 was as balanced as any district I can remember. There was virtually no difference between the 5 teams week to week. Number 1 seed goes to Etown as the only 1 loss school. Then John Hardin, Marion Co and Taylor Co all have 2 losses. Nelson Co is eliminated with 3 losses despite being very competitive. Both John Hardin and Marion beat Taylor and JH beat Marion. Would it be JH at 2, Marion at 3 and Taylor at 4 based on head to head? Would RPI be utilized to determine seeding ?

Campbellsville’s pass defense is very suspect but their run defense is stout. KCD appears to be run-oriented so I give Campbellsville the edge here.

This is a very competitive district. I really don’t think there’s much separation in any of the teams in this district. What are the implications here? If John Hardin wins, I presume they secure the one seed. If Etown wins, a potential 3 way tie with Taylor and John Hardin. Of course, Taylor would have to beat Marion Co and in their current depleted state, that is far from a sure thing.

Watch out for Reece Bartley (#3) for Monroe Co., he had 193 yards receiving and 2 tds vs Campbellsville. A junior, this is his first year of high school football after starring in middle school.

Listening as well, it certainly feels like Dubois has outplayed the Ads. They muffed a punt which led to a Danville score and ended the half inside the 10 yard line and ran out of time. 12-12 at the half. Dubois receives the 2nd half kickoff.

Hughes will be a challenge for Green Co. and arguably the best player Green co will face all season. Dragons will look to cut down on their many unforced mistakes that nearly cost them last week’s game vs an improved LaRue team.

These schools are litt I believe this one is being played at Thomas More My dragons played at Holmes last week and they announced it several times. Holmes has a long way to go. I really like their campus and stadium though.

Definitely a strange matchup-not sure if there was last minute issue that led to this game being scheduled. Taylor’s first two games were against unranked 2a teams and the Cardinals had their hands full each time (only led Metcalfe 6-0 at half) With a much more favorable district slate and a soft non district schedule, Taylor could easily be 9-1 or 8-2 on the season but that will be a bit deceiving as they are not a strong 4a team this year.

How did the last minutes transpire? Pikeville recover an onside and score on a Hail Mary?

45-35, very late in the 4th quarter. Looks like Campbellsville will hold on.

CAL runs away with this one and about 5 teams in 2a would be #2 if they were 3a

The Hornets hung in with Taylor co pretty well. Only trailed 6-0 at half. I know the Lakers won 32-9, how did it play out ? I’d like to hear more about how that game went before making a prediction

Glad to hear Modi’s eligibility is cleared up. He is only 17 (I think) so it was never an age thing.

Adair lost a ton of talent from the last few seasons. I’m thinking Russell county will win this one convincingly.

I think Barren takes a big step back off their dream season. Lost a lot of good players.

This isn’t senior night. Senior night is knowing this is your last time playing on that field/court. That’s the motivation imo. Senior night on opening night is just extra distraction. Boone Co looks to be the stronger team regardless of motivation or distraction.

Pittman is the real deal. I’m Excited to see how he and the dawgs do this year
