Somerset travels to Greensburg to take on Green County in the district opener for both teams.  Since dropping their opener to a surprising South Laurel team, Somerset has reeled off 3 straight wins.  The most recent was a 42-7 win at Paris.  

Green County also comes in at 3-1.  Their lone loss was a 22-6 setback to undefeated.  The teams haven't met since 2022 when Somerset upset the Dragons in the first round of the playoffs, 41-30.  

 

Who starts off district play at 1-0?

I would be really surprised if Somerset doesn’t win this game. Green might be 3-1 but it’s against a very weak schedule.

Hughes will be a challenge for Green Co. and arguably the best player Green co will face all season. 

Dragons will look to cut down on their many unforced mistakes that nearly cost them last week’s game vs an improved LaRue team.

Gimme Somerset. The defense is just too hot right now, allowing basically just one meaningful touchdown in the past 12 quarters. The offense isn't shabby either, with playmakers all over the field and the great dual-threat Kris Hughes at QB. This should be the toughest district contest as well, and I would not be surprised if Somerset runs the table the remainder of the regular season.
