First, this district 1 through 5 was as balanced as any district I can remember. There was virtually no difference between the 5 teams week to week. 
 

Number 1 seed goes to Etown as the only 1 loss school. Then John Hardin, Marion Co and Taylor Co all have 2 losses. Nelson Co is eliminated with 3 losses despite being very competitive.

Both John Hardin and Marion beat Taylor and JH beat Marion. Would it be JH at 2, Marion at 3 and Taylor at 4 based on head to head?

Would RPI be utilized to determine seeding ?

According the KHSAA website seeding is as follows:

1. Etown

2. JH (won H2H over Taylor and Marion) 

3. Marion (won H2H over Taylor)

4. Taylor

Taylor County (if/when healthy) is a SCARY 4 seed…

Their senior qb is injured and won’t return to health. Their running back has been absent for non-injury reasons and may be back.

Even when healthy, they were a bit of a paper tiger. Their non district slate was extremely weak. 

I think a team like Paducah Tighlman wins by a running clock score even with a complete healthy squad. 

 

 

I might be crazy but to me Tilghman looks down this year. They lost against MNH and in a nail-bitter with Logan. I guess question becomes how much better is Logan County than these teams? Always felt like a physical, running team was required to beat Tighlman to try to keep their offense off the field. Each round of the playoffs against these districts should be very interesting!

It has been really interesting to watch. I think there's an argument that all five teams were capable of being district champions.

Cov Cath has a home game and then four on the road to make it to Kroger Field, correct?

4A Region 1 playoffs:

Taylor County at Paducah Tilghman 

Franklin-Simpson at John Hardin

Marion County at Logan County 

Calloway County at Elizabethtown

Tilghman will roll through Taylor County and John Hardin (or FS, that’s a fun 1st round matchup with Coach Preston and his former Wildcats) but even in the 3rd Round when the matchups go off RPI from Region 1-4 they’ll host Etown, possibly Logan County or maybe even Spencer County? Not sure how much the Flyers will drop in RPI if they lose to BG but I’m sure Tilghman won’t move anywhere after they walk the dog against Christian County. It’s setting up nice for the Blue Tornado again this year, just a matter or not if they can execute, all the talent in the world.
