Your school's Mount Rushmore

No Jaron Brown or Robert Hammonds?

Mt. Rushmore only has 4 slots, Hammonds and Brown top players but dont think they were better than the 4 listed. BS has had a lot of talent come thru the doors. Many of us played college ball at some level and there were some who went to BS but didnt play but competed at the Dirt Bowl in Lex showing off their talent!!

I'm only going by who I've seen play and I decided to expand Mt. Rushmore. No disrespect towards your list though.

For Covington Catholic, in my opinion, three are really easy...the 4th is a bit of a tug-of-war.

Nick Ruthsatz

Roger Tieman

Andy Listerman

I think all 3 of them have to be on there.

The 4th could be CVH, it could be Kevin Listerman, it could be Jake Thelen, it could be Chris Walker. I could make a case for any of those 4, but none of them knock off one of the 1st three I listed (in my opinion). Heck, if you want to include all facets of a person's involvement in the program, then I'd think about including Dan Tieman.

Randy Noll makes any CovCath list IMO.

Louisville Male:

Darrell Griffith

Bobby Turner

Winston Bennett

Jason Osborne

About 15th or 16th on the all-time scoring list.

Solid player but I wouldn't think he'd be near the top.

Chris Walker has a record that may never be broken. 945 rebounds in a career. Not sure if that puts him on the mountain but that's legit.

Wow, defensive reply. Derkson was a great CovCath player and a charter member of NKU's Hall of Fame. Was NKU's all-time leading scorer, Mote Hils said he was best player he coached at CovCath.

Mote quit coaching at CCH in the 70s , right?

Derkson is about 14th all-time on the scoring list. Holds no school records that I can find. What warrants top 4/Mt Rushmore status?

No Don Turney? He played D-1 basketball and was a dominant big man in the 9th Region. What about Steve Berling?

Turney was a great rebounder. 452 rebounds in one season.

Not in the 1,000 point club.

Mt Rushmore is a picture of totality to me. Therefore, you have Dan Tieman on there.

313 wins as a head coach

He's in.

You don't want Winston Bennett on anything that brands your school if this also takes into consideration his post-Louisville Male deeds. Griffith and Turner are no doubters. Osborne, meh.

Three straight 9th Region championships (1969, 1970, 1971), Derkson was the go-to player as a junior and senior. They had such balanced scoring on those teams, he wasn't needed to average 20 ppg. If he had taken as many shots as Ruthsatz, no telling how many points Derkson scores. His post-CovCath career included graduating as NKU's all-time leading scorer, a charter member of that school's hall of fame.

The challenge of comparing players in different eras.
