  1. You are spot on. Couldn't have said it better. The guy had an opinion and mixed it with some humor. Boone County has been non-existent in football for years. It's just the same old whiners on BGP making an issue of it.
  2. The generation of "my feelings are hurt" strikes again. lol. He was saying in a way that Boone County is bad in football. It's the truth. You don't like the truth? Go out and win football games. If football is too tough, go play soccer.
  3. Given he won three regional titles, it couldn't be lack of success. His won-loss record is fine. Is this another Notre Dame Academy volleyball drama, where parents control the coaching seat?
  4. Are the players and parents responsible for his firing?
  5. For once, I actually agree with you. Makes me wonder if the players/parents/outside influences (AAU coaches) strike again and run out a successful coach?
  6. From WKYT re: Humphrey: George Rogers Clark High School fires Coach Scott Humphrey
  7. That's what happens when you only win three regional championships in 13 years at Clark County.
  8. Scott fielded a volleyball team with two girls standing 6' 5'' several years ago, both went on to play basketball and volleyball in college, and they still couldn't beat Notre Dame when they played. Notre Dame's tallest players were about 6' 2 '' but Scott wasn't even in the game. Scott does field a competitive volleyball program and I credit them for that, but please don't even mention them in the same sentence or thread with the Louisville schools. It doesn't work.
  9. You referring to Bill "Mr. Football, NKU Style" Erpenbeck? I remember he led the charge for NKU's football program and was all set to hire Mike Yeagle as head coach for the Norse.
  10. You are right on. Scott a non-factor in the state. The match against Mercy was comical and an example of a team with no idea of how to simply receive a serve. The Mercy coaches were laughing about Scott's inability to pass a jump serve, but that goes to show what I said. To their credit, Scott does attempt to field a good volleyball program, unlike the mountain schools and those in the western part of the state. But Scott isn't a factor in the state tournament.
  11. Just read all of what you wrote. It's a contradiction in itself. You state there are indeed problems with parents, administration, etc, with coaching at NDA. You then act like it's not OK, then turn around and try to spin "but with an experienced coach like Buck" who is, by the way, also having his problems with the parents. Lots of them.
  12. Good preview. The only part I disagree with is having Central ranked so highly. They lost too much to even be in the ballpark of the top 10 in 3A. This will probably be a losing season for Central.
  13. You obviously have missed a lot! lol. They just ran off the girls basketball coach for no reason other than their little agendas. Don't be surprised if NDA is looking for a new volleyball coach at the end of the upcoming season. This will be three straight years without a state title for the coach, unacceptable by NDA parental standards.
  14. Since you contradicted yourself numerous times, I will not argue. I think we all can agree the parents ran off a good coach (Lanham), and the NDA administration looked the other way and hoped it would go away. High school sports, 21st century style.
  15. Incidents like this are the end of good coaches. The school attempts to cover it up, the local press is nonexistent to anything the least bit controversial, and few know the real story. The sports at NDA are ruled by the mob mentality, adults who never really grew up and throw tantrums when a coach makes a tough decision for the better of the program. I'm a Holmes graduate without a dog in this fight other than some friends who have kids at NDA, but it's sad to see coaches run off because of a group of parents.
  16. I figured as much. Anyone close to the NDA scene knows the parents and outside influences (club teams) are in control of the coaches. I was not saying Lanham was like a hall of fame coach, but she deserved a better fate than the administration/parents/outside influences caused in her departure. I don't blame Lanham for leaving at all. But I do not like the way these supposed adults can bully a coach in any sport, depending on the school, into leaving even when the coach is doing a good job.
  17. I knew they are no longer in the same class. I did not realize the series had been canceled. It's probably best for my Bulldogs they don't play. I am thinking Holmes hasn't beaten CovCath in football since the early 1990s when James Hayes was the Bulldogs running back and McCarthy was the head coach. I knew Holmes is now 4A and Highlands is 5A, had no idea they had stopped the series.
  18. Ooops. I think you are correct. I did not realize they did not play last year. I take it back: Holmes will definitely not lose to CovCath this season! But what a shame the series is over!
  19. I never, ever, ever thought I would live to see Dayton have more football players on the roster than my Holmes Bulldogs. Good for Dayton. Glad to see kids are coming out for football.
  20. --"Holmes loses for the umpteenth straight time to CovCath." --"Holmes will finish the season with less than 30 players." --"The CovCath boosters and parents will begin whispering that Eviston isn't going to work out in Park Hills. They really need someone who can beat Highlands." --"The first round of the state playoffs will feature an average score of 61-7, with 15 teams scoring more than 80 points in the opening round." --"Beechwood will win a watered-down Class A state title."
  21. You hate hearing it? Do you support a bunch of unqualified adults complaining because their girl doesn't get to play setter because the coach knows they have a better player at that position? Are you trying to say it's alright for an entitled 15 year old to run to the athletic director and whine about not getting enough playing time? You are correct about the sideshow drama at NDA. That's why so much is wrong at the place. Alpha Parents as you call them are the biggest crybabies in high school sports. Frankly, I can't believe Lanham stayed at NDA as long as she did with the parents and outside influences any coach puts up with. What's head coaching experience have to do with a flawed school putting up with bad parents controlling a sports program? One answer would be a strong AD and administration that would simply tell the parents your kid is going to play by the coaches rules, or you're not going to play. Period. Your attitude appears to be the problem that plagues many of these high school programs. You hate hearing it? Do you stick your head in the sand and just let people walk over innocent coaches because they don't have experience? Great example you are. I would say your attitude re: coaches is one of the big problem at any high school that allows parents and boosters to try to run the show.
  22. I think the better solution would be to have a midnight practice like SK. I like the idea. Hope my Holmes Bulldogs try something like this in the future. It might actually energize the kids and community.
  23. Did not say they regret Lanham leaving. They (parents) ran her off. The program is winning, but it is far from "fine" as you say. NDA wins because it's a destination for every volleyball player in the region and has all the talent. But as long as NDA allows parents and other outside influences to run the program, along with basketball, things will never be fine.
  24. The parents unfairly ran Andrea Lanham out of Notre Dame. Not a shot at McCoart, just pointing out Lanham deserved better. All the sports at NDA are suffering from the "parental chaos" running coaches out the door. They keep winning, and the parents keep complaining about everything.
