This was the first time I got to see Cooper this year and because of the heat I could only last until 3 mins left in the first half. What I did see was this:

Dante Hendrix gets better every year. He reminds me a lot of BG's N Fant when he played for the Purples. His stride is so effortless that it looks like he's not even going full speed but before you know it he is behind every defender on his way to the end zone. He is so fun to watch with the best hands around. His first 2 catches resulted in 2 TD's and over 100 Yds receiving. That's all I could stay for so I don't know how he did the 2nd half.

Cooper's Schlarman was also impressive when he got a few touches.

Coopers QB Lonacher (sp?) looked pretty good with his accuracy and should improve even more as the season progresses.

Boone is once again 3yards and a like of dust as far as their offense goes. Their QB has some pretty good zip in the ball when he has time to throw but their line had him scrambling a little more than they wanted I'm sure. I really think with the size of their RB that they will wear teams down up the middle.

Should be be a season of growth for both teams who lost a lot after last season.

When I left it was 21-0 Cooper before the half.

It is ashame Cooper Couldn't find a better scrimmage opponent.

I thought the same. Pretty tough to gauge how they will do when they scrimmage Boone.

I would have loved seeing them scrimmage someone like Cov Cath.

Cooper could have scrimmage St. Henry and got a better scrimmage.

I really think that is Cooper's mantra. Scrimmage well below their ability. Don't show anybody anything. Everybody knows that Hendrix and Schlarrman are special players, but outside of that I'm convinced they want to keep a secret. Keep everyone guessing, while they keep winning games. They seem like a bulletin board team. Everyone questions and doubts them and they use it as motivation during the week and then just surprise everyone on Fridays.

Thanks for the post, I was wondering how it turned out. Dante is a special player and teams who don't double cover him will pay a price. He is the kind of kid you just throw it up to and he makes a play. Looking forward to seeing the Jags in action a few times this year.

Not cool.

Boone is obviously struggling but the above piling on is not appropriate and disrespectful to the coaches and kids. Kill Votto all you want. He's a pro.

Be better than this. It's not really what BGP is about.

Cooper 28 Boone 0.

Hot as blazes. Felt like it was raining but not a drop from the sky. @Hellbird, did you see me? I was the guy covered in sweat.

Boone has a quick RB but have to be better at getting him in open spaces. QB is athletic and improves every time I see him.

Boone JV had the better of it against Cooper-- 6-0. Score came on a pass from Zac Grau to RJ Summers. Jante WIngo had several good runs for Boone. He looked quick and really good in open field. He also put his head down and became the aggressor when contact was imminent. I liked what I saw.

I believe a late field goal made the score 31-0 with Cooper knocking on the door as time expired in the 3rd qtr. I agree Boone JV looked better than the Jags JV.
