Maysville HS Bulldogs all-time team would be:

1. Cere Myrick (all-state guard, led Maysville to state tourney)

2. Fred Walker (great scorer and rebounder)

3. Tony Humphrey (all-state and all region)

4. Shawn Myrick (all-stater, helped Maysville to state tourney)

Coach: Bob Hall

No one will ever deny that there were some people who worked hard on Ross' behalf, yours truly played a very small role in that. That wasn't the implication of what you said previously, but hey it isn't the first time I have called you on something stupid you have said either.

So is @Mustang right or wrong? Did Neltner receive some "help" from the outside in getting the honor? I thought he was a good player, but in an era when the state of Kentucky's talent was at an all-time low.

Sorry, but the coach is Earle Jones. 541-197. End of discussion on that one.

The Myrick's respectfully disagree with you.

And the state champions disagree with you.:thumb:

And I was a friend of Bob's and am a friend of Rob. But it is what it is.

Great coaches don't necessarily win state titles, player do. Go back and scan the 1976-78 Maysville teams with the Myricks and how far they went with a thin roster. Great coaching got them there. We can agree to disagree.

Then you agree Bob did a great job in the mid to late 1970s. That is what I meant.

I could be wrong, but what about Walt Maher who I think was a key player on Maysville's state championship team in 1947.

One of the beauties of BGP. Nothing wrong with good honest debate.

Thanks. I recently attended the funeral of Ken Downey and a couple of players from the 1950's who showed to give the eulogy. They spoke of how special it was to play for Maysville HS, but I could remember their names. I was hoping one of the names mentioned would jar my memory. It's a shame when a school closes its doors the tradition is lost.
