January 1, 201511 yr As I said in another thread They were 7-3 last year, 6-3 the year before, 6-3 again.... To quote the great Chad Johnson "Child please". SEC is 4-3 this year so far. Still some left to be played, so it's way to early to say they aren't the best yet. Where the ACC is 4-5, BIG 2-3, Pac12 4-1, and the mighty Big 12 1-3. My personal opinion is the ACC has ruined their brand by letting these recent Big East schools in (minus UL).

January 1, 201511 yr I personally do not think their is a single best conference this season.Probably the case and personally what I feel to be the case most years. Most conferences have a team or two that are pretty good and then the rest. After that first team or two the SEC may have a more solid foundation consistently.

What is intriguing about the SEC is that they have won the national title whether mythical or not 10 times in the last 20 years (numerous runner-ups) with 5 different teams. Georgia, which is a great fb school only has 1 title (1980), and a yearly top 10 to 15 team doesnt have a title in that span of time. No other conference can come close to what the SEC has done during this time period. It has just been magnified over the past 8 or 9 years with Bama, Florida, LSU, and Auburn.
January 1, 201511 yr I see the SEC as still the best, but not by as much in recent years. It is pretty close this year. The SEC is #1 because of depth of teams in the conference, although I don't see a conference's bowl record as the determining factor in how good a conference it is. This depth is why the SEC usually has good bowl records as a conference. I think the SEC was thinner at the top than it has been in quite a while. The Big 12 is probably a little better than the SEC at the top but doesn't have the depth of the SEC. It is between those two conferences this year. PAC 12 is #3 and nobody else is in the discussion.

January 1, 201511 yr ACC has wins by Ga Tech, Clemson, Va Tech and NC State ACC has losses by Louisville, Duke, North Carolina, Miami, Boston College And soon-to-be Florida State.
