California Division I:

Mater Dei 49 Mission Viejo 24

St. John Bosco 52 Centennial 14

This sets up a rematch between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco, who met earlier this season with Mater Dei winning 38-24. Mater Dei is almost universally recognized as the #1 team in the country, while Bosco is top five nationally according to MaxPreps and USA Today.

The distance from Gaither High to Escambia High is 465 miles. A 7 hour plus drive by bus. It would be shorter if they went by boat. :D

Saw that Gaither needed to raise $3500 to fund travel expenses for this game, even with Glory Days Grill, a Bay Area chain of sports bars, picking up the food. To their credit, they have raised almost $4200 to this point. This is the first time Gaither has been this deep into the playoffs. The fans are really all over it.

For the Miami Beach Bowl, a couple of years ago, Mrs. S and I did the tour bus package, which drove us from the USF campus, in north Tampa, to Miami and back. About 10 hours round trip. She and I were worn out when we got home and all we did was watch the game. It's going to be tough for the team to ride 7-8 hours on a bus, play a 3-3.5 hour football game, then hop on the buses and ride 7-8 hours back home. Even if they charter big tour coaches. In fact, under Florida law, I do not believe tour bus drivers can drive more than 8 or 10 hours a day. We had 2 drivers on our bus trip.

It's going to be Black Friday, too.

The team I follow in Georgia is Price Avenue Christian. They lot last week to I want to say the 4X Defending State Champions Eagles' Landing Christian 62-57.

Prince has the #1 Junior QB in the Nation in Brock Vandagriff. He is committed to Oklahoma. He went off for over 540 passing yards and ran for 88 yards while accounting for all 7 total TD's. Craziness!
