That DII title game between La Salle and Massillon Washington could be a doozy. The stadium in Canton should be packed with Massillon folks.

 

That is 3 hour and 45 minute drive for LaSalle and about a 15 minute drive for Massillon. Massillon should easily double the LaSalle fans.

Thanksgiving night/weekend? I'm not sure. How much would it cost to house a 30 or 40 player football team for a night? Could you get that many rooms on short notice, given the holiday in a tourist town? Tax, tag, and title tells me, more than $3500, the goal of the fundraiser. The $3500 looks more like the rental of a couple of tour bus coaches.

 

By the way, Gaither is a Hillsborough County public high school. My son graduated from there. Hence the interest on my part.

 

I watched Gaither host Armswood several weeks back. I came away impressed by Armswood. I see they both lost.

I seen Carmel won the Indiana 6a championship. Or whatever division they are in lol.

LaSalle does not travel all that well, so the majority of the crowd will be Washington's.

California Division I:

Mater Dei 49 Mission Viejo 24

St. John Bosco 52 Centennial 14

 

This sets up a rematch between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco, who met earlier this season with Mater Dei winning 38-24. Mater Dei is almost universally recognized as the #1 team in the country, while Bosco is top five nationally according to MaxPreps and USA Today.

 

St. John Bosco rallied from a 23 point deficit to knock off #1 Mater Dei on Saturday, 39-34. They advance to play De La Salle (the school that won a national record 151 straight games from 1992-2004) for the California Open Division state title on December 14th.

Attendance on Saturday was 22,638 for a two-day total of 41,876 for the six games. That number is up slightly from last year's total of 41,538.

Alabama 3A State CHAMPIONSHIP

Mobile took a 10-0 lead into halftime. Piedmont came out in a two tight end set with a few passes added in to take a 20-17 lead. With 2:35 left in the game Mobile scored to take a 26-24 lead with 35 seconds left in the game. Congratulations Bulldogs! This is Piedmont"s 4 title.

 

Piedmont is one of 3 schools from Calhoun County to make it to the finals. Jacksonville Golden Eagles play for the 4A title tomorrow. My high school the Oxford Yellow Jackets plays for the 6A title tomorrow night.

LaSalle won 34-17. This is the fourth Division II title in the last six years for the Lancers. That's an incredible run no matter where you're from, but especially in Ohio's upper divisions.

My Yellow Jackets blocked SF extra point early in the 4th quarter. Oxford lost their starting QB in the 4th to injury but the backup engineered the winning drive with 30 seconds to play. Our kicker split the uprights for the win. It is Oxford's 4th state championship.
