It has been said that when two freight trains are on a collision course you can see the tracks shaking between them. If this is true, expect to see the tracks shaking in Class 1A as both defending State Champion Beechwood and Runner-Up Hazard are loaded for bear and seemingly on a collision course. The two favorites will take it easy in Week 0 and then go full steam ahead in Week 1. Paintsville and Kentucky Country Day each have dreams of derailment and will begin their journey against schools from much larger classifications. Raceland and Russellville each draw tough openers, and Pikeville looks to put a frustrating off-season in their rear view with a reigning 2A Semi-Finalist.

Is Beechwood and Hazard on another collision course? Or will Paintsville and Kentucky Country day able to upset the apple cart? Who is outside the Top 10 and waiting to prove they belong? Is anyone ranked too high? Too low?

I agree Pikeville probably ends up 4-6 this year.

How good is Paintsville? I am going back and forth on them. The main thing I wonder about is their backfield with all they have lost over the past couple years.

Terrific matchup for Russellville to "see what cha got" right out of the gate at a Glasgow squad that should be pretty good this season!

I definitely think Crittenden County will be knocking on the top 10 door. Lots of talent & experience on this team.

How good is Paintsville? I am going back and forth on them. The main thing I wonder about is their backfield with all they have lost over the past couple years.

They have plenty of talent it's just who will go where..The last name Allen will be every where. The good thing is their defense will carry them until their offense comes around.

Pikeville as of now still only has 9 games with just adding an away game to Calloway County.

That's a 6.5 hour drive one way! Surely they are meeting in between like Corbin and Mayfield do!

A team that may break out is Campbellsville in my opinion. After reading some more information on them they return 8 starters both ways. I knew they returned a solid core but not that much.
