UK#1fanisback
If they do have a team they will probably be down this year.
Voice of Reason
If they do have a team they will probably be down this year. That is expected after losing 21 seniors and their star players.
Justamom2
Holy Cross will definately have a team. They also lost a large number of seniors. Unfortunately, this causes some panic with underclassman and yes we did have a transfer. The year after HC won the state championship, they went 1-9. Sometimes kids struggle with knowing that they will be on a team that's down. Great one year and down the next. It's unfortunate, but likely part of small school athletics. Holy Cross Football celebrates a 20 year anniversary next year. It will be a special year of celebration for this young program. Players need to talk with their buddies walking the halls to get some kids on the field. Believe it or not, last year we had several linemen that didn't play football until Sophmore year. Those kids ended up having a fantastic football career. Sometimes those 1-9 teams are the teams that help create the best memories. Nothing to lose, just go out and have fun playing football. That is likely what will happen next year.

Ram
Is there a specific reason for the small number of players? Or, is that expected at Holy Cross?
UK#1fanisback
Is there a specific reason for the small number of players? Or, is that expected at Holy Cross? Graduated around 20 plus Seniors. Around 20 kids rerurning counting kids that where Freshman and 8th graders.

Worse, some may decide to jump ship and go elsewhere. But there is a lot to be said about taking pride in your school and your teammates and giving it your best when times are tough. Slobber Knocker
As I understand it there has been a mass-exodus among the Holy Cross coaching staff.
Colonels_Wear_Blue
As I understand it there has been a mass-exodus among the Holy Cross coaching staff. Their coaching staff is going to look VERY different in 2017. I know for a fact that their offensive coordinator is coaching at Holmes now. I think there's a very specific statement being made when a program's OC leaves after being a few yards short of a trip to the state finals so he can coach for your crosstown rival.
