That was my nephew! This team is primarily freshman and sophomores. I expect them to compete in the next couple of years. Thank you for the nice words. They sure need it after getting creamed the last two years.

I'm pretty close to the program as well. I'm not sure what you think might be going on but there isn't? Not with football. I will, however, answer your question. We had several coaches leave over the past few years because their sons graduated including this past season. Many of us knew this would be their last. It was understood from the beginning and no surprises. We had one coach that accepted a new teaching position last year but wanted to finish out the season with this Senior class. Again, no surprises, we all knew it would be his last. There is another long-time coach that has come and gone a few different times for a variety of reasons. We had two younger coaches that were with us for 2 seasons. I'm not sure their specific reason but usually young guys leave start to have families, etc. We wish them the best becuase they are great coaches and gave a lot to the kids. And finally we have one long time coach that has been there since day one with Koz. I agree with @nkypete, people leave for a variety of reasons, that doesn't mean there is a problem with the program. In fact, it is just the opposite at HC. We have people associated with the program that stay to support the team and coaches for years after their kids have moved on. Including @nkypete. Holy Cross is an interesting school that attracts kids from all over. It really does make it special that you get a hodge podge of kids all thrown together from various areas. It's the best thing about the school. This same 'hodge podge' is what makes it tough to develop a pipeline of kids for sports. There is not the same "drinking the kool-aid" in ementary school that other schools have. Sometimes we really don't know who is going to play until they show up for their first practice. For this reason, there will be amazing teams and down teams. It is what it is. The football team will be down for a few years. There are GREAT people associated with the program. It will go back up. So, yes, I do believe you may be uneducated on what you think is going on with the Holy Cross football program. We have some young guys on the field this year. Those guys need every bit of encouragement. They are working very hard and they do have some talent. We will struggle EVERY game this year. Please don't be too harsh on your judgement of them. They know they aren't very good. They don't need to get on here and read how the program is falling apart because they are having a tough season.

The Indians will take their lumps this year. No one has any varsity experience except the QB. Many of the kids are freshman and sophomores and visually you can see the disadvantage on the field. Coach Koz is a great man. I've had two sons go through the program. Both have played for 1-9 teams and I have one son with a state championship ring. This isn't anything going on in Latonia. Coaches left because their kids graduated. We had one kid leave because the season had the writing on the wall. It's all good. I can't wait for 3 years from now and we are talking about how great the team is as seniors because they got so much experience as freshman.

HC lost a ton. That's for sure. However, they picked up a large group of very athletic freshman this year. The team will take some lumps this year. Hopefully that builds this young group up to a strong force in the next few years. This sounds like it may be a great and pretty even game for both teams.

Coach Kozerski was inducted into the KY Pro Football Hall of Fame last night. The event was held at the Opera House in Lexington. In order to be inducted into the KY Pro Football Hall of Fame one must have been born and raised in the state of Kentucky, played college football in the state of Kentucky or made a significant impact in the football community in the state of Kentucky. Bruce was inducted because of his work at Holy Cross and the positive impact he's had on students on the field and in the classroom and the the impact he's had on the community. It was a pretty neat event last night. Has anyone ever attended?

Holy Cross will definately have a team. They also lost a large number of seniors. Unfortunately, this causes some panic with underclassman and yes we did have a transfer. The year after HC won the state championship, they went 1-9. Sometimes kids struggle with knowing that they will be on a team that's down. Great one year and down the next. It's unfortunate, but likely part of small school athletics. Holy Cross Football celebrates a 20 year anniversary next year. It will be a special year of celebration for this young program. Players need to talk with their buddies walking the halls to get some kids on the field. Believe it or not, last year we had several linemen that didn't play football until Sophmore year. Those kids ended up having a fantastic football career. Sometimes those 1-9 teams are the teams that help create the best memories. Nothing to lose, just go out and have fun playing football. That is likely what will happen next year.

Jake is not playing. He's getting ready for college basketball. Chad is playing and had a nice game.

It's not bad if you are a Holy Cross fan. :-) Congrats to Finke. He's just coming out of Diving season where he placed top 10 in the state. He also had a stellar Senior year in football. Hopefully the Indians have a decent baseball season. Cov Cath always does well in baseball. I'm sure they will be fine the rest of the season.

It was a great game! It's not the ending our guys had in mind when they set their goals at the beginning of the year but they left their hearts on the field. This team has a lot of talent. Not just our superstars with Barnes and Abernathy but several very talented athletes. This team was special and we are proud of the run they had together. The 3rd quarter was awful. Kudos to Danville. They did exactly what they were supposed to do by finding our weaknesses and exploiting them. There isn't much else to say. We put ourselves in a hole. When you are trying to battle back, EVERY second counts and EVERY call counts. It's unfortunate we found ourselves in that situation to begin with. Congratulations Danville. Good luck next weekend! Shout out to @BigVMan23, @ADopted ADmiral and @Lawnboy who ventured over to Indian territory. I was laughing with someone earlier in the day that if the Native Americans and Europeans could share Thanksgiving dinner, then Holy Cross, NCC and the Admirals could share a met over tailgate. It was nice to meet you guys! Now... on to basketball. Look for a few of these guys to play key roles on the floor this year. I may even post in the never visited swim/dive BGP thread because a few of our guys should do very, very well at state. Come look at the end of January...

Very interesting. A few months ago I attended a dinner and our speaker was Kentuckian Kenny Davis who played in the controversial 1972 Olympic basketball game. He turned his life lesson into writing a book! Either way, unfortunately, this game has been tainted and both teams will come away with a bitter taste in their mouth. Huge life lesson for sure. I'm sure all of you here at BGP can recite the game "where the refs got it wrong" and it changed the outcome.
