Nice article on Trinity's Tim Phillips.
Great kid! Because of his size (5'5",145lbs) defenses can’t see him. Because of his speed they can’t catch him. He is just a shifty back, which makes it hard to wrap him up. Stay healthy and work hard during the off-season and we will see you next year...

Where would Ryle rank?
No disrespect to Ryle, but being a one-dimensional team (Run, Run, Run) will not get it done against the big three. The score would have been the same if they were playing Male or X. But for the record, Ryle is State 4A Runner-Up.

Enquirer-Ryle's 1st Title Within Reach
I thought it was a good article. There were a few words I would have choosen differently. But hey! I’ve had artilcles written about me where I was misquoted and or taken out of context and usually it’s the editor who didn’t even do the interview that does a rewrite. Go figure! Congrats to the Raiders for making it to the big dance. Let’s play football...

Thunder, lightning, and the 4A game?
You can’t change the game time. To many schedules are in place. i.e. THS Team Ready Sheet, Ryle travel time, Pizza Palace employees, etc... you get the message!

More interesting quotes from Coach Beatty:
WOW! This is a tuff one to comment on! I could write a book on the history and success of Trinity Football (Maybe I will), but, I’m going to keep it simple... it’s on our helmet: Discipline, Achievement, Loyality and Pride. Coach Beatty, thanks for carring the torch... GO ROCKS!

District Awards...
I am sure Alex is a great kid! But 7on7 is not justification for a great quarterback! It, in no way simulates REAL football. It’s just a early opportunity to work on timing with your receivers in a competitive atmosphere. My vote would go to the QB that I would want to have with the game on the line and thier is no QB in this region I would take over Petrino!

Mr. Football
I think the order should be: Beaumont, Petrino, Minnifield, Anderson. I’m going by kids I have seen... I’m sure there are other great players in the State and I wish them well!

Trinity: More with Less?
It's simple! Coaching. The system is put in place at the freshman level and the kids practice that way through thier Senior year, 351 days a year (subtracting dead period). These young men buy into a winning system. We take average kids and make them good football players. We take good players and make them into great high school players. Well, you get the message...

2007/2008 Season Dates (surprises?)
Drop the bye week (honestly a distraction) and eliminate the 1st playoff game (watered down playoff system). This will allow for better weather and attendance for the Championship Games, and Basketball Coaches can get thier teams ready for the season. P.S. We never had bye weeks in my day! It was always: Prepare for game! Play game! Prepare for game! Play game! Prepare for game! Play game! You get the message!

4A Championship: Ryle vs. Trinity
I,m happy for Ryle and thier fans. Playing in the State Championship Game is a great feeling to have. With that said, I have a number of reason why the ROCKS will win #17. 1.We will not under estimate the Raiders (Coaches will not allow it). 2. Our offensive sets will spread the field for a Petrino feast. 3. For some reason everyone things because we don't have 300 pound linemen, we can't be physical. Wrong!! 4. Speed kills! Well, I could go on, but you get the message. Let's play the game!! GO ROCKS!

Trinity 56 Henry Clay 35
Congrats ROCKS! The execution on offense was amazing (third down conversion 10-12). Nick really spread the ball around nicely to all of his receivers. Coaches did a great job of adjusting to HC defense (Nick's 164 yds rushing), i/e. Blayne Donnell last year, just another wrinkle Ryle will have to contend with. Good luck to Minnifield and Jeter at the next level. Coaches will get special teams attention this week in practice. Onward to our other home field, The Pizza Palace. GO ROCKS!
