  1. Id have to disagree. Smith the leading rusher from 2002 quit going into his senior year, and he gets replaced, and everyone moves on. The players that didnt play wouldnt have made an impact because their impact would have been negated by someone who replaced them. There is numerous examples of people being replaced by less talented and less athletically gifted players but still getting the job done. Coach Smith won the 2003 state championship with 170 lb guards and 5-foot-7 running backs. I would just have to say that Smith gets everything out of his players, regardless of talent.
  2. I think Boyle can rebound against a tough loss against Bowling Green. Boyle just has to eliminate the mental mistakes, play tougher on the lines, contain Boyd, and tackle that fast running back. Boyle 42 HC 28
  3. The only objection i would have to make, is that an end around and especially that play, requires no penetration. The question is, on the goalline, with defensive linemen bear-crawling for penetration, do you run a complicated and delayed hand-off? I do agree that it was a gutsy call, and it could have worked, but the right time, probably not. I have watched alot of Boyle games and that play works effectively in space.
  4. Jacob Tamme never ran that play. It is only ran by the tight ends, and Jacob never lined up at TE. Adam, his cousin, played tight end, and ran the play, and it did usually work. I do also feel much better than after the scrimmage
  5. I know of plenty of people down in Bowling Green that will be watching Boyle for the first time, so i hope for my sake (they are tired of hearing about Boyle's hayday) that Boyle puts out a good showing. Should be a great game.
  6. Boyle's freshmen look alright. They have one big kid Lamar? that looks like a beast compared to the rest of them. He might be the only of the bunch that could push for significant varsity time, just based on his size.
  7. It should be Bryce Perry the starter from last year. Also, Jacob Smith a Junior converted WR from last year and Philip Mason a Junior also are in the mix. From what i hear Smith is pushing for Perry's job because of his athleticism, and Mason will more than likely be looking at mop-up duty this year.
  8. I will be there. Should be an exciting pair of games.
  9. Clay is a great coach and a great guy. He deserves his shot and i think he will do well at Hendo
  10. Just a quick note of observation to any senior that might want to spend their camp time at Eastern... The Tennessee All-Stars had more EKU signees on roster than the Kentucky All-Stars. That shows that EKU is definitely not interested in KY players. If i was a senior that wanted to get looked at in my senior season i would take myself on down to Bowling Green.
  11. Just getting older doesnt make them better. They have to put in the work and build some character because they all folded under pressure last year. The freshmen you speak of quit as well as their best sophmore linebacker, but Boyle always has had players quit. Football is tough especially at Boyle and not everyone has the internal strength to play. This season reminds me alot of the 2004 and last state champs. A small senior class that stepped it up, a large talented junior class that followed, and a couple sophomores that can compete. Everything is there for a good season, they just have to go to work. Plus, Coach Pardue's playcalling was outstanding i thought in the KY-TN All-Star game, so he should get us in great position to execute.
  12. 1.KY 2.Yes 3.Beaumont 4.Kasey Clark 5.Vic Anderson TB-45
  13. The Reds need to start dealing away players after the all-star break. They need to get Voto up in the majors and figure out something. Baseball America has their minors ranked 12th and they have a good handful of young players in A ball, so the Reds need to prepare to contend in 2009 instead of spending millions on Dunn, Milton, Stanton, etc.
  14. Cant wait till i get back to college so i can get on live again and play this game. I love its multiplayer
  15. Boyle County and Danville have a traveling trophy that stays at the winners school as well.
  16. Coach Hope is a good man. But, his assistants dont have the highest opinion of Kentucky High School football. Some of his assistants are as you stated, quite dishonest, and it goes further than just lieing to recruits. EKU continually goes down to Florida and picks up kids that everyone else passes on including Div. 1-AA schools down there, and forget KY kids that have some talent. It boogles my mind because their best players year in and out are KY players like, Patrick Bugg, Mark Dunn, Al Holland, etc. (Not to mention historically, players like Byrd from Corbin were All-Americans from KY.)
  17. By the time he commits it will be time for next years NBA draft, so he can sign his scholarship and then declare his intention to enter the draft. It can be all in one news conference. Big Money
  18. From Madden, because i use the hit stick religiously. Feel the pain, bring the hurt.
  19. Im not so sure. If i were a senior i would be more upset about not having an opportunity to make a new design and customize it for your team. They worked hard to deserve those rings, so why shouldnt they be able to have something they are proud of. I would lament 20 years down the road when i saw the ring, instead of remembering the glory, etc.
  20. "There is an ongoing debate whether or not Boyle County's state championship teams from 99'-03' were indeed champions, as insufficient, unreliable scorekeeping methods were prevalent during that era.":fire: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boyle_County_High_School Just was surfing at work and found this to be humerous:lol: ....unless its true:eek: If there is an ongoing debate, why isnt it going on BGP? :sssh:
  21. Jeremi Johnson on Brent Grover?
  22. Chipotle (i can always crush) - chicken burrito with black beans, rice, 2 scoops of hot salsa, lettuce, and sour cream Taco Bell- Grilled stuffed Burrito Wendys- 2 Jr Bacon cheeseburgers Little Caesars- Anything they got And i always want a liter of cola
  23. They remind me alot of Boyle's 2000 championship rings. The diamond shaped football on the top, and with the state of Kentucky, 15-0, and AA on the side. Impressive
  24. This seems like the ideal job for a coach that has built smaller programs, and is looking for somewhere to build and stay permenantly. I wonder why there isnt more interest. Is it the admin.?
  25. He seems like a solid player, but it didnt look like he has the speed for Div. 1 or 1-AA. Nothing seemed too spectacular, but he definetely is a good ball player with some defensive instincts. The only glaring thing i saw was that he runs too high. He had no hip movement or forward lean, just running straight up and down, and that should get him juked on Defensive if he went up against a decent running back.
