Four years ago yesterday I had open heart surgery. When I was finally transferred to a regular room out of ICU I started receiving phone calls. My husband would answer the calls and talk to each person because I was just too weak to carry on a conversation. One night the phone rang and MrRk answered it and talked to someone for a little while and told the person on the other line that I just wasn't up to talking. When I asked him who it was MrRk said, "he said to tell you that it was Alabama Larry and that he just wanted you to know that he was thinking of you and that he had you in his prayers". I told him later that I was so very touched by that phone call. He didn't have to make the call but as a good christian man he just felt the need to let me know that he was praying for me. This news of his death is heartbreaking and now I want him to know that I have him and his family in my prayers. May God welcome him home into his loving arms and may "Alabama Larry" know that I was proud to call him my friend.

You bring a sledgehammer to the game....take whacks at property that doesn't belong to you...you damange that said property and you have the audicity to say that Boyle County is classless? WOW......boy that sure is a statement to make......WOW....now let's see what I can say about it......I have know Larry Vaught for over 30 years and I can tell you for a fact....for a fact..that he is not just a small town hack. He is an award winning journalist who is thought well of by lots of people. Now I would be the last person to tell anyone how to think about someone but let's give the man his due. He has earned every award he has won and I think he has more than done well by all the surrounding teams in the Danville area. He has been fair with Mercer, Garrard, Lincoln, Casey, Boyle, Danville teams. If he seems to show special attention to the kids in these areas...then he is doing nothing less than other sports writers in other areas do. Of course he would favorite a kid from our area....just like someone from different areas would favorite their kids. If that is what makes a small town hacks..then there is probably lots of them around. What I think needs to be done is to not be calling names and let the people on the Mr. Football Committee decided who will be the next Mr. Football. We could all sit here and give our opinion and name call all day long but in the end...what we think and say doesn't mean squat. For my vote...o-kay...here comes a small town hacky answer...I vote for Rees and for Larry to win whatever awards there are out there to win. More power to them!!!!!

Prayers go out to this child and his family from Southern Indiana. May God continue to watch over this child and keep him in is loving arms.

It makes no difference which side of the field these large trolls was cheering on, this should never happen at any sporting event let alone a game where "kids" are playing. I wasn't there and I didn't witness any of this but I am ashamed and appalled that it happened at all. These are kids playing for our entertainment and we should never say a word to any of them except in praise. All of these kids, Boyle and Bell, have worked their butts off in order to be on that field playing and we should respect each and every one of them. I hope someone says something to these women, I sure would have and have done so in the past, and they will think twice before ever doing it again. I am sorry to the Bell fans that this happened and you have to know that this does not reflect a "true" Rebel fan. We appreciate all kids and we appreicate good football. We enjoy a win but we have always been able to take a loss with class and good manners. What a season for Bell County to be proud of!!!!! GO REBELS...TAKE STATE
