It would be hard to claim that Bell, an excellent team, would be the best in 5A. Since its inception, the Birds have owned 5A and may just sweep the first four ever 5A titles. Since HHS is moving down to 4A, maybe there will be a chance for another match-up with Bell. I think it would be a competive game that might answer some questions.

These kinds of evaluations can't be done until the entire season is complete. Ask the UNLV men's basketball team in 1991.

they've certainly shown it's a conversation worth having prior to the end of the season.

I think just as Highlands was probably the best team in the State last year regardless of class, Bell maybe that team this year.

Bell could be they look awful good this year really playing well this time of the year.

Until Boyle Co. is beaten then this shouldn't even be talked about. Boyle and Highlands still should be in the running for that......UNTIL THEY ARE BEAT. Oh yea, see ya on Log Mountain next week..... :clap:

I've been saying that I am going to the Beechwood/Mayfield game, but I am heavily thinking about making the drive to see the Bell/Boyle one instead. Both should be excellent games.

 

As far as my answer to this question, I don't think I would have one until knowing how it goes next week.

Like I said we'll know more after next week. I've been around T, X, Boyle, Highlands, Lex Cath, Belfry etc. I really think Bell is peaking at the right time and the only flaw I've seen is coverage team on special teams. They were up like 35-0 on Johnson Central at one point I think. The beat Harlan Central 30-0 or so too so we'll get a look there too. Boyle/Bell has been the anticipated matchup all year. Boyle deserves the respect too.
