Playing them last week felt like playing some of the old Highlands teams we played with Lorenzen/Guidluli etc. Probably not on that level but they were flawless skill wise and executed on both sides of the ball to near perfection. For those who haven't seen Knox they are right on Johnson Central's level.

I'd be very interested to here from JC fans comparing Bell + Highlands since they have faced them both.

I don't think that's a fair comparison considering JC didn't see the same Highlands team that beat Ryle 29-14 earlier in the year. A healthy Highlands team is the best in classes 1-5 and I'd be willing to bet the house on that. I also think Highlands has better coaching..

 

And FWIW, Bell would have their hands full with the only team to beat Highlands this year...

I certainly wouldn't argue with anyone who wanted to pick Bell. They've been very impressive.

He's still got a bad batch of turkey in his belly from 1992! He won't play highlands (ever) unless it's in the playoffs because he has to!! Talk about a backfire. Ha, that 92 game played on friday, Bell wins!

I wonder if the fields still wet from the following trip to the "hilton"

They were the best team on our schedule, I thought. I'd put HHS 2nd, and Boyle 3rd. Actually, I'd have a hard time deciding between Boyle and Knox Central on a neutral field, given the games we played with each. I will say I'd make Bell a two touchdown favorite on Log Mountain in next Friday's game based on what I saw from each team. Just one JC fan's thoughts. It is what it is.

Since Bell and Highlands don't play each other, it's hard to say who'd do what. Different teams matchup differently with each other, too, so comparing scores isn't necc the be all, end all in that discussion. I do think Bell has been one of the most impressive teams this year and could likely beat any 1 to 5a team out there, but, could probably lose to a few of those, as well. Highlands, J.Hardin, Boyle, Somerset, Mayfield, ACS and a few others have also been very impressive...

Hate to say it, but Bell's offense would outscore Highlands' offense this year.

I think just as Highlands was probably the best team in the State last year regardless of class, Bell maybe that team this year.
