  1. I bet one of them gets drafted by the Bengals
  2. Ride Ty Sparks like he is the Kentucky Derby winner, then throw the ball occasionally.
  3. Anything interesting coming out of any of these schools?
  4. There are alot of people that are in the program that get rings besides players and coaches. The team doctor, atheletic trainer, superintendant, principal, etc. are all possible candidates for a ring because they have lent their support and/or time to the program, which made Mercer's title run possible.
  5. I think Gillispie is already hard at the job trying to convince those Aggie recruits to UK. It shouldnt be that hard, a premier program, excellent facilities, and everything else UK has that A&M didnt. The only reason those kids picked A&M in my opinion was either location or Gillispie and if Gillispie is gone then no more reason for them to be there.
  6. I think im going to buy the site name http://www.firebillyG.com.... just kidding, im really excited about this hire
  7. I know he probably didnt want to make the change, but in my opinion it was one change that needed to be made a long time ago. The old OC was not up to the task
  8. I believe that the rebels will go 9-1 and make a deep run into the playoffs because i heard that Pardue is coaching the QBs and calling the plays again.
  9. Sounds like Coaching, chemistry, and leadership problems to me... Nothing about talent in that observation ^^^^
  10. Boyle will be upperclassmen dominated this year and they all need to start playing like Boyle County of old. Coach Smith used to tell Sophmores that started that 3 games into the season they were officially upperclassmen. He wouldnt allow them being sophmores to use that as an excuse. I think that if the O-line play improves, especially in the run game, they could have a good year. They need to fill the TE spots because those have always been very productive positions in the BC offense (Brad Cloud, Adam Tamme, Bobby Leffew, Josh Miller). The defense should be great under Coach Hester again this year. They need to improve in the middle. The D-Linemen (all 4 of them at times) were getting pushed back...there were too many running lanes, and they need to find a consistent partner with Sloane as a weak side middle linebacker. But ever since they lost Pardue as OC the offense hasnt been nearly as productive. Play calling must improve, but so does every aspect of the team for them to have a chance. Last year i heard alot of excuses and this year their shouldnt be as much. Good Luck Rebs, i know you can do it Strengths- Defense, Tradition, Returning Starters, Upperclass dominated, Must Improve- Heart, Desire, Strength, Running Game Desperately need to improve- Play-Calling, leadership
  11. How do you know that anyone wasnt mistreated or that the seniors werent discriminated against? like you said later in your post you arent there everyday, you dont see everything. Im just pointing out your flawed logic, not taking any sides. Just playing the Devil's Advocate
  12. On offense they return Bryce Perry at QB, but i wouldnt be surprised if Philip Mason makes a push for the job, or Connor Givhan. The leading rusher, Cole Stevens, returns as a senior, and the backup last year returns as well The WRs, the leading reciever Josh Miller left, but they return the next two, Reese MacShara (Sophmore) and Jacob Enlow (Senior) Both TEs are gone, so that is definetely a glaring hole to be filled. The O-Line returns one tackle, one guard, and its center, so their is a returning core. Overall, the Rebels look to have alot back on offense. The O-line has to be able to overcome the graduation of Hilton and Waters, because at times they were the only ones playing good. They were definetely the leaders on the O-line, so somebody is going to have to step up. The running game was bad last year, but the passing game should be pretty good this year with returning QB and WRs. The only thing i will say on coaches is that the play calling has got to get better. I will pay money to see Pardue make the calls again. We did win 5 with him at the helm of the offense........ Defense DL, Both DEs return as juniors in Cameron Finchum (sp?) and Jordan Walker. They will need to be stronger this year, at times they were blown off the ball acouple yards down the field. The DTs both graduated, so it looks to be another glaring problem. The strength of Boyle's D has always been the front 4 whipping the front 5. The DL's responsibility is to hold up blockers and clog up holes for the LBs to fill. LB, The LBs mostly return with Ben Sloane leading them. Sloane stepped it up big time last year as an undersized sophmore. The only loss is Josh Miller, and the other returners are Coffey and Crutchfield. DBs, the CBs both return with Jacob Enlow and Ryan Marshall. Marshall got burnt acouple time in the Southwest game so he should be hungry in the offseason. Enlow is the only senior as of now on the Defensive side of the ball, so he has to be a leader this year. He played good last year, and they also return Bardin who started the beginning of the season. The FS is Jordan Aumiller, who should be a good player with great size and speed. Overall the Defense should be pretty good next year. They return alot and the only glaring hole should be the DTs. They should be ready to make a run come playoffs with Jeff Hester coordinating them. The team itself has the parts. (I think last years did too) They just need people to start stepping it up. Thanks last years' seniors they toughed it out. But, the sophmores last year are now juniors and upperclassmen, they cant use any excuses now. Its only whether or not you get the job done. It should be a good rebound season, the 6-6 record should leave a bad taste in their mouths the entire offseason. This team looks alot like the 2003 state champs. They have a small senior group, with alot of junior contributors. Let's see if they have the heart. Good luck Rebs
  13. Seems like a great schedule that Pardue put together. If they survive in one piece, they should have the big game experience needed for the playoffs
  14. I used to have a problem with Vaught, mostly his sports editorial skills, but now i think he is a good editor too.
  15. I would throw my pick at Chuck Smith. In his short time at Boyle County he built them into a juggernaught and now they have been mediocre at best. He holds the state's second longest winning streak behind Trinity's, 5 state championships in a row, 6 straight appearances to the finals. All in around a decades time, if he stayed in HS football, there is no doubt in my mind that he would have broken alot of records. After him i would mention probably Sam Harp and Bob Beatty.
  16. Boyle County classes of 03 and 04 had 4 state championships and a record of 58-2
  17. Yeah but i wanted to make the point that JSU gets kids in the south over EKU and thats the only team that south in the OVC
  18. I know first hand about EKU's coaches and they are professional liars to high school athletes. They have lied to recruits and i know for a fact that they promised to pay student managers and then never forked out the dough. It is really crappy what grown men do to 20 year olds. I know all of their coaches and i warn against anyone i know who would ever play for that bunch. Ammons is too good of a player and from what i heard about the kid, too good of a person for EKU. Best of luck wherever he goes
  19. He doesnt have the arm strength for UK but it is a shame that EKU isnt going after him. EKU's staff has made it clear that they want FL players that Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Florida, etc. and even Jacksonville State in their own conference dont want. Ammons would be an excellent addition for any Div-1AA teams in state
  20. I think the State now allows one charitable poker tournament a year now too
  21. De LaSalle has had some good players on those national championship teams. Maurice Drew RB of the Jaguars and DJ Williams LB for the Broncos to name two
  22. Considering his lineman friend got an offer from Troy, that might mean they have some film on the kid. I see him as mid-major or the Championship Division of Div-1
  23. I know that Mercer is playing in the Bob Allen Pigskin Classic, but i dont know against who. Maybe Southwestern or Corbin or Rockcastle. The other game is Danville vs GRC. And im pretty sure that Mercer does play Boyle. i think the 5th week again, but i cant be sure of the date
  24. I agree that Jaggers and staff had little time to complete a whole offensive system for everyone. Im guessing that it was confusing for all the players to learn a new offense and they simplified it early in the season. They went to a Bear Bryant, we have 10 plays and we will be very very good at those 10 plays type mentality. We will have to see about next year. I saw the games, and Russell is a very good team but Trinity and Cov Cath would have won by aleast 4 TDs. They would have shut the run down and make them pass and it would have been over with.
