JC will have their hands full with a very tough Rock team. I will not miss this game.

I knew it wouldn't take long to get this thread started. Best of luck to the Rock on their quest for another Regional title.

Should be a great game. Great opportunity to see two of the best running backs in the state go head to head. But this could end up being a defensive battle and a low scoring game IMO.

Johnson Central didnt start playing like the team we had seen all the other games up until about 6:00 to go in the 4th quarter. I cant wait for next friday night!

I like Rock in this game. I think they have been more tested than Johnson Central and at Rock will take care of business.

I think JC will be alright in this game. If they play to there potential they will have a good chance of winning i am going to take the Eagles in this one by a small margin. The "Nest" will be rocking again next friday .

I will have to agree with Samham I believe it will be a battle between both teams and a low scoring game but, the Rock will prevail and win if they play good offense and tough defense. I see Rock winning 13-7 but that is just my IMO.

Johnson Central is going to have to execute better against Rockcastle County than they did against Ashland. Johnson Central played solid defense, Ashland had some big plays. But overall JC played solid D tonight.

First off let me say that I would LOVE to see JC win this one. I just dont think they will do it. Rock Castle is a great team year in year out, this year is no exception. I look for a low scoring extremely hard hitting game. Im gonna go with:

Rock Castle - 14

JC - 10

You guys proved me wrong the first time you played Ashland this year, and I hope you can prove me wrong again.

There is no series record between these two schools, they have never met before. The only connection can be made by Matney and Rock.

Rock is 2-0 against Matney while at Sheldon Clark.

1999: 31-14

2000: 7-6

This is Rock's 6th Regional Title Game appearence in 8 years. The other two years Rock missed the game by these scores.

2003:

Mason County 21

Rock 19

2004:

Ashland 34

Rock 27 Double Overtime

I'll copy/paste over my thoughts that I posted in the JC-Ash thread:

Well, there's one extremely motivated lineman who spent all of Friday night blowing up the Bell line on both sides of the ball. I have no official numbers, but Durham had at least 10 tackles and was in on at least four sacks and a forced fumble. He was freakin' incredible tonight.

I've had the luxury of seeing both JC and Rock, and it should be a fantastic matchup. I don't think JC can handle Rock's size up front, but Rock may have a hard time dealing with JC's speed.

If JC gets a few big plays, they'll be in good shape. But Rock's defense is absolutely dag-nasty (they intercepted three would-be Bell TDs in the EZ), and they must've held the ball for 38-40 of the game's 48 minutes. JC better be able to put together some long drives.

It's looking like a 14-13 game, and I would have to give Rock the nod simply based on big-game experience.

I believe the Ashland game will help JC more than any of their other 11 wins this season. The Golden Eagles finally were forced to face adversity and they met the challenge.

As for my prediction, I really don't know. I haven't seen Rock play this season...other than some snippets on Sports Overtime. I will say that I do feel better about Johnson Central's chances after finally being in a game that was very much in doubt late in the contest.

I will say...

JC 24

Rock 21

I am not going to predict a score in this game (at least not yet), but I really don't think that it will necessarily be a close game. Either Rockcastle's line will dominate and allow them to march down the field and keep JC's offense off the field OR Johnson Central's team speed will enable them to break some big plays and force Rockcastle out of its plodding ground game.

What kind of passing game does Rockcastle have in the event that they are forced to play catch-up? I noticed that the Rockets dominated the stats against Bell County in both games, but really struggled to pull away from the Bobcats. Why was Rockcastle's offense so inefficient in those games despite its dominant defense and huge time of possession advantage? Will Central's speed create the kind of problems for Rockcastle that nearly cost the Rockets' a playoff game against Mason County last year?
