  1. Congratulations to Bell co. I am looking forward to the rematch in the playoffs.
  2. This site is about sharing information and not just about debating who is going to win or lose the game. 3wishes was sharing information not only with the Bell Co folks but with fellow Rockcastle folks. He stated a fact and did not open himself up for any such comment. If you will take the time to look at past history you will see that 3wishes provides most of the statistical and historical information about the Rock and their opponents. You never see him making excuses. Please take the time to get to know the people on the site.
  3. I can promise you if the Rock loses there will be no excuses.
  4. 3wishes you are correct. Many people don't remember a team that the Rock fielded back in 1983 that was one of the funnest teams to watch in the Rock's history. They lost to Danville in the playoffs when our starting Quarterback went down to injury. They fielded just 30 players all year and were dubbed "The Dirty Thirty". You don't have to have 60 players to win but injuries to key starters can change the outcome of a game.
  5. That is funny:laugh:   Somehow I don't think Dudley is that good of a sport. ;)
  6. I agree with you that this is a great rivalry not only for Bell but for Rockcastle as well. Rockcastle has Madison Southern because of being 15 miles apart but in reality Southern has never beaten Rock. This game is a defining point in both teams season. But regardless of the outcome of this game both of these teams will be serious contenders in 4A come playoff time. On a side note I do think it is funny that people say history is not important when it is not in their favor. Just look at Boyle Co at 0-3 but still ranked. Ask people why and they say well they have a history of success. History is history and I never said it would effect this game. I just wanted to correct the statements made by the previous posts. I actually beleive this game will be close and be won by the team that wants it the most.
  7. I would first of all say that this is one of the greatest rivalries in Kentucky High School football anywhere in the state period. It will be a dogfight and either team has a shot at winning this game each year no matter what their records are. These teams work all year for this game and the bragging rights it brings. With that said though I can't agree with the statements above. Rockcastle has had a very strong program for over 20 years not 7-8. It just so happens they spent several years prior to 1999 in 2A and did not play Bell. They have 21 straight winning seasons if I am correct. Second if you look at the record since they moved back to 3A Rockcastle has defeated Bell 8-12 times and 5 of those have been by a margin greater than 2 touchdowns. Bell has only defeated the Rock by more than 2 touchdowns 2 times. See the record below. 1999: Rock 7 Bell 19 2000: Rock 26 Bell 0 2001: Rock 34 Bell 2 2001: Part II (Regional Championship) Rock 28 Bell 14 2002: Rock 14 Bell 7 2002: Part II (Regional Championship) Rock 31 Bell 14 2003: Rock 12 Bell 28 2004: Rock 7 Bell 56 2005: Rock 29 Bell 33 2005: Part II (Regional Championship) Rock 21 Bell 0 2006: Rock 18 Bell 14 2006: Part II (2nd Round) Rock 13 Bell 0 Third point and most important the comment about the Rock getting beat out of the playoffs and not making it to the second meeting is completely wrong. In the 8 years since moving back to 3A the Rock has made it further into the playoffs than Bell 7 of the 8 years with 2004 being the exception. Bell has lost to the Rock in 4 of the 8 years and in 3 of the other 4 years have either lost in the 1st or the 2nd round. See the list below of who Bell lost to each year. 1999 Bell Lost to Lawrence Co 2nd round 2000 Bell lost to Paul Blazer 1st Round 2001 Bell lost to Rock 3rd round 2002 Bell lost to Rock 3rd Round 2003 Bell lost to Boyd Co 1st Round 2004 Bell lost to Highlands 4th Round 2005 Bell lost to Rock 3rd Round 2006 Bell lost to Rock 2nd Round Bell has a great program and I have great respect for them but I have to agree that over the last 8 years the Rock has handled Bell very well. I just hope this year is the same.
  8. I think the Rockcastle - Bell game may be the biggest game of the week. This should be a war as usual.
  9. Two issues that make rankings hard in high school football. First many districts are dominated by one team so the scores are lopsided and are not a true indication of a teams ability against other teams in the state and second rankings are within your own class but schedules include games in other classes. Each person has to decide is more important to lose by a touchdown to a team a class or two higher than you or beat a weak team in your own class by 60. Everyone has their own opinion.
  10. Rock by a bunch. I am hoping to get home to see this one in person.
  11. If we are talking about one player dominating a game in high school and not who has had the best career or who was on the best team then the answer is Tim Couch by far.
  12. Scotty Robinson at Rockcastle played in the shadows of Mark Higgs in 1983. This was before Rockcastle became the powerhouse they are today. I also agree with Walter Browning.
  13. Congratulations to JC on a great game. Nice performance by Grimm. Best of luck the rest of the way.
  14. All I Can Say is........... Let's Get This Party Started!!!!!!! :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa
  15. It's almost time to put the mouthpieces in, strap the chin guards up and hang on for the ride. This is smashmouth football at its best. By now the bleachers are full and it is standing room only. Sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel is a freight train and you best stay out of its way. The Rock is HARD tonight. BABY!!!!!!!!!:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa
  16. Add a drink and you have a Combo meal.
  17. Best way to get to Paintsville from the Rock is Mt vernon to Winchester, up the Bert Combs parkway and hang a left on 460. The roads are much better that way than the other way. I have travelled that way many times to the horse show in paintsville for the last 20 years.
  18. Bribery what will we think of next.
  19. I am not going to disagree with anything that anyone has said on here because I do not like them either, but for a different reason. I liked the old ones because when anyone saw them they new right away you had won the District, Region, etc. Now they are just another trophy in the trophy case unless you stop and read the fine print. With that being said and all of the talk about what they look like, I can guarantee you one thing. When one of these kids that has never won one gets to hold it that night it looks like a million bucks to them and it will be something they carry with them the rest of their lives and that is what it is all about.
  20. According to who you ask IMO. Most fans have said JC is not tested so in that respect JC could be considered the underdog, but the JC fans have been asking for respect all year for their 12-0 program. Watch what you ask for cause you just might get it. If you believe JC should be ranked in the top 3 in 3A and they are at home then along with it you get the honor of being the favorite and the Rock would be the underdog. I am picking the later of the two since I am a Rock grad.
  21. Go to the Rock/JC game. Sit on the Rock's side. Traveling underdogs need your support.
  22. Yes you would have. I agree this is going to be a great game and whoever makes the least mistakes will win this game. IMO I think the Rock's experience prevails on this one.
  23. Too much Miller, and too much hard-nosed defense for JC. Rock wins by a comfortable margin.
