  1. I have alot of respect for Coach Tackett and the Ashland football program. I wish him and the T-Cats the best of luck this season. Well, except for on August 24'th.
  2. Looks good to me. I really dont think alot of people from down state realize how good of a team Raceland had this past season. They easily moved the ball up and down the field against NewCath in the first 2 quarters of the Regional Championship and were ahead 21-6 until the NewCath QB rushed for a TD with less than 2 minutes left in the half. A 21-13 half time lead on the state champs is pretty impressive. I honestly think Raceland was the second best team in Class A last year.
  3. You are 100% correct DevilPride.... The Fairview administration has been putting this coaching staff together for the past several months... Coach Tackett was in a no win situation. I have ALOT of respect for Chad Tackett and wish him the best of luck in everthing he does. IMO he needed to get away from Fairview.... they dont know a good thing when it hits them right in the face.
  4. Raceland and Fairview Ashland and Russell These two games are by far the biggest rival games in the Ashland Area. The games just get nasty.
  5. I can understand not starting Martin, what I can't understand is letting the starter have such a long rope. Knowing their second round game, was probably going to be easier than their first. I'm sure they were trying to save Martin for the championship. East done the same thing last year and didn't learn from it. Though, they tried to pitch their number 3 guy last night and it didn't work very well. By the time Seagraves came into the game, it was to late. I do understand Rowan's theory, they just let it get out of hand, before bringing in Martin.
  6. Where will the tourny be played at?
  7. don't understand All-tourney selection. how did Peyton Martin not make the team. 2-3 from the plate, 2 stloen bases and scored 1 of the two runs. Not sure I understand the qualifications???
  8. Congrats to the Lady Ramblers!!!! Its nice to see a team fight through a very tough time and pull together to win some big games. Im so proud of you ladies and I KNOW you will represent our community very well in the regional tourny. The RHS girls have to be the clear cut favorite to win the region! CONGRATS once again!!!!!! GO RAMS! GO RAMS! GO RAMS!
  9. East Carter offered T.J. Maynard the assistant principle job as well as head coach. But just to put the rumors to rest, T.J. has turned down the job and will remain at Raceland. I heard this one straight from the horses mouth. No way he is leaving RHS. He has it way to good here, and when Coach Hoof decides to hang it up, T.J. will definetly be the next head coach at Raceland.
  10. When it is all said and done I believe coach Clark will take over as head coach and Floyd will remain on the staff but only as an assistant. But I agree with Incognito, there will be several coaches from around the state wanting this job.
  11. I dont see how Suitor is big time hitter for Russell, last time I checked he was batting in the 8 spot. Not that I dont think he is a good offensive player but one would think the "big time" hitter would not be batting that low in the lineup. IMO.
  12. Raceland has a ton of talent coming back next year, mix that with Floyd's up-tempo style and this could be a very exciting season. Sparks, Boyles will lead the way but Martin, Barker, Nichols, and Ross are all very good ball players. Also the new transfer from Ironton has been shooting the ball extremely well.
  13. The RWHS students have had to deal with alot lately and there is no doubt they played this game with very heavy hearts. Im so proud of them for just getting out there and playing this game. They lost a very dear friend they day before this game and still played hard. Im extremely proud of all you guys. But on the other hand, congratualtions to G.C. on the win. I wish you all the best of luck in the regional tourny. R.I.P. Allie
  14. Martin is currently batting .523 on the season, that has to be tops in the area and Carver is easily hittin in the .400's. Also for the Rams Senior Matt Phillips is batting over .400 and Josh Wilson, a sophomore, bats in the 3 spot and is hitting in the high .300's maybe low .400's.
