Raceland Names Head Basketball Coach

Raceland has named Scott Floyd Head basketball coach. Floyd has served as an assistant for the Rams Boys Basketball and is the head Girls Softball Coach at the school. Imo this is an excellent choice to lead the Boys basketball program at Raceland. Coach Floyd imo will take Raceland Boys basketball to better things in the future.

He has been one of the top asst. in the 16th for a few years now. This was well deserved. Raceland was lucky they got him instead of Greenup trying to pry him away

Good deal! Congrats are in order to Coach Floyd and Raceland! It's been a tough week in Ram Country, nice to have some good news.

Raceland has a ton of talent coming back next year, mix that with Floyd's up-tempo style and this could be a very exciting season. Sparks, Boyles will lead the way but Martin, Barker, Nichols, and Ross are all very good ball players. Also the new transfer from Ironton has been shooting the ball extremely well.

My understanding is that Martin may just concentrate on baseball next year, it would hurt but with KC and the transfer from I-town the Point should be ok.I guess Boyles will play the 2 Barker the 3 Tolliver or Watts the 4 and Sparks the 5 JMO,

As far as i know Martin is fully expected to play and contribute a bunch in basketball!

I hope so he really helped the team out last year, that was just something I had heard that with his baseball ability he did not want to take a chance and get hurt
