  1. Just because they have talent in those classes doesnt make them a sure bet. Talented classes have fallen on their faces before like the 97 squad with Neil Brown and Bart Johnson and the 04 team that broke the streak with Brandon Smith, Brandon Record, Evan Teague, Quinn Givhan, etc. I look to what the past teams had and the teams now have and the one glaring difference is Chuck Smith. Im not saying the coaches are any good, they are some of the best. Just give Boyle some time to adjust to the post-Smith era.
  2. First of all, Coach Pardue said he was sending the tape in on his call-in show.  . And if the playcaller now was back in the 04 game, it would be dive, dive, dive, punt with 2 minutes to go in the game:lol:   So maybe Givhan would have had 31 carries for 100 yards in that game. I kinda wish i played against Highlands at Highlands now tho......
  3. A little birdy told me that Boyle sent off the tape of the game to KHSAA to because of the officiating
  4. When i first saw him i never in my life thought he would be a good player, let alone a senior leader, two way starter. But, ive been wrong before.:creepy: Its circle the wagon time for BC. Nobody is expecting much from them, its time for them to get a chip on their shoulders and show all the nay-sayers that they are true Rebels.:thumb: :thumb:
  5. I do agree with some parts of Burgandy's rant but not near half of it. I do believe that some players are missing the Boyle County type of mentality. Im not questioning their heart or how hard they play. The senior do need to lead, and when you have a young team, the seniors have to be the ones to show the way. This senior class is the only ones on this team with a state championship ring. The talent is good, and i whole-heartedly believe that. There is no re-building in high school just re-tooling. I couldnt look a senior in the eye and tell him he doesnt have a chance because the team is in re-builidn mode. No, if you work hard enough and want it bad enough then things will happen for you. These Boyle kids are as big and athletic as past teams. There O-line is big for high school standards, people just need to start being accountable and make plays. That is why i love football, it is a game of accountability. You have to be there for your teammates each and every play, and if you slack up and dont do your job you are held accountable for the consequences during that play. You arent letting yourself down, you are letting the 10 other people on that field down, the coaches on the sideline, your teammates on the sideline, and every fan that religiously follows your team down. Its alot of pressure at a program like Trinity, X, Highlands, Russell, and Boyle, but the kids have to want to do it, and i believe that Boyle's kids do want to get it done. While i agree that youth and inexperience is not a viable excuse (look at past state champ teams, the first in 1999 comes to mind and the last in 2003), but you have to give the kids more credit. At WR, Miller continually posts over 100 yardage games, and #12, the Enlow kid, caught 14 balls against Lafayette and like 9 against Mercer. He has made plays and caught about everything thrown to him. You are sorely mistaken if you think putting another freshman in there will help. O-Line is doing fine? They havent opened decent holes all year, Boyle hasnt ran the ball all year. And by the way, Aaron Waters doesnt anchor that line, the Hilton boy does. The kids work hard and the coaches know what they are doing, but the wins arent coming. Boyle fans need to calm down. They have played a tough schedule and when you expect perfection, alot of times you will be let down. Boyle has some holes, but they will be addressed. Give these players and coaches time to gel. Boyle has always played hard and been in every game. The strength of Boyle has always been offensive strategy. Coach Pardue was one of the best playcallers in the state. Play calling should be a strength but instead it is a major deficiency(it has almost gotten laughable). With Pardue calling the plays, this team is 4-1 with a loss to Henry Clay, and everybody is praising Perry, Tamme, Miller, and the rest. But, hindsight is 20-20, so lets let the seniors lead, the junior and sophmores follow, the coaches coach, the officials officiate, and the fans.... well cheer i guess
  6. Tates Creek v Lafayette Boyle v Southwestern Corbin v Middlesboro Never should Johnson Central v Paintsville = blowout
  7. If Dunbar can handle it to the tune of 6 points, then i think Lafayette might keep it under control alittle bit atleast. Coach Harmon has been saying all along this is one of his best teams ever, and there performance so far is making me a believer. But, Boyle did have success through the air, so i might recant my scores, but i wont:p
  8. Im going to go with Lafayette. They have wins over under-rated Mason Co. and Boyle Co. Woodford has played noone, but atleast looked good doing it. Id say Woodford will have to fight for #4 in the district as no one except Dunbar looks to be down this year. Lafayette- 37 Woodford-21
  9. Make it 100%, i know its not a high school rule.
  10. Before i make a prediction, whats been Woodford's opponents and scores?
  11. Bath Co. will give LCA some trouble but i think its safe to say that LCA wins in this one. They impressed me with their win over Raceland, and it seems like this team is peaking just at the right time. LCA 24 Bath 7
  12. I believe in the power of motivation, and Highlands should have plenty of that. If DeSales doesnt respect them, then they will be unprepared for the onslaught of blue and white. Highlands will avenge the loss, especially when they feel they have been disrespected or wronged. Just ask the 2004 Rebels in the State championship game after the 2003 win by the Rebels.
  13. I agree with LTW. South Laurel and Lincoln should be a good one to see.
  14. Estill is still better than Lewis. Put it in the "W" column for Estill
  15. Might be closer then some think but i look for LexCath to roll. Breds still can fight for number 3 in the district behind Franklin and LexCath. Lexington Catholic 35 Harrison Co. 14
  16. Whos the coach down there? Sounds like the coach needs to be more proactive in getting those same players out again.
  17. Sorry i meant RebelK, still alittle green around here:cry:
  18. There have been young Boyle teams in the past and they still have won big games. People seem to forget the first state championship team. They won with 3 seniors playing, Bobby Leffew, Greg Wilson, and Brandon Clem. They had a sophmore quarterback, with numerous sophmores starting and even a couple freshmen playing. They didnt worry about that, they just got the job done, i think that is evident in their 15-0 record. That class was regarded as one of the worst to come through Boyle, also the last state championship team had only like 5 seniors getting playing time with sophmores starting. They had a 15-0 record too and knocked off good Paducah Tilghman and Highlands teams. They werent regarded as a good class either. Then supposedly one of the best classes to come through Boyle, the 2005 class, broke the championship streak. I guess im just saying that you shouldnt count your chicken before they hatch. Also, i believe that the difference has to be Coach Smith. These teams dont seem to be clicking. I watched Smith's teams and they didnt make mistakes, im not bashing the Boyle Coaches, because they will win the district, and probably get to Central in the playoffs, but you cant replace one of the best high school coaches ever, and not feel a drop off.
  19. Lincoln is doing all the right things so far. They are winning games they normally would have lost. Looks like some French mentality:confused: Larry French that is. They showed alot of heart by not giving up the Rock game, add in the fact that Lincoln is on a roll. SL 20 Lincoln 26
  20. Mason's field was not a good as it normally should have been. Their were little pot holes, and dirt clods everywhere. It was still in good shape but it did look worn down to me. But, it played good and fast and you cant ask for more in a field. But, that was a good game, Frankfort almost sent this one into OT.
  21. Frankfort BIG! Frankfort has speed and played a good Mason Co. team close. They were shut down on a 2-pt. conversion to tie it really late in the 4th quarter. Garrard will have no answer to them. Frankfort 56 Garrard 18
  22. 2 notes: From what i heard about the game from friends and family, they had a similar experience to Super. But, as i told them, kids will be kids and its the first time in their lives that Mercer Co. has been in the state-wide spotlight and a serious chance to run the table. Secondly, that Jackson kid is the real deal and the best of the Big Three (Jackson, Ford, Walker). They say that he was being chased by the Miller kid (A Div-I prospect) and saw him close, then just shifted into another gear and broke away. With that type of speed, its hard for any defense to contain him. I have a question though, what does Mercer have coming back next year?
