It looks like Tates Creek is going to run the ball this year.

So what is new? Lack of diversity on offense has been an issue at TC.

I agree. They need to diversify their offense if they want to be competitive in the playoffs, and likely their own district.

Very few teams can play in the larger classes with one dimensional offenses and be successful. St. X is one of the exceptions. Other schools tend to lackluster until they have one or two stud backs (i.e. Eric Shelton ad Bryan Station).

Tates Creek was in four straight state semi's from 98 through 01, they have had success in the playoffs using their system. That was under Joe Ruddell, but Mark Willoughby was one of his top assistants. The problem seems to be lack of talent at TC the past few seasons.........

I remember that "smashmouth" thing in 2000 and 2001. Really successful against the Rocks. With the final scores 52-21 and 50-0 respectively(Trinity winning both games). In 98 they did beat the Rocks 37-14 (we were running our old veer at the time) but then lost to a balanced Male team 31-7 in the title game.

Also in 1999 it was Bryan Station in the semis, not Tates Creek. 3 out of 4 isn't bad though. All I am saying is that to move their program to the next level they need to diversify their offense.

Henry Clay has done that and they have really impressed me the last few years.

You are half correct Bryan Station did win the region and go on to the finals but Tates Creek did win their region as well that year. Lexington was divided into two different regions at the time with Henry Clay and Bryan Station in a different region from Dunbar, Tates Creek and Lafayette.

Bryan Station crushed Tates Creek in the final four but believe it or not Tates Creek beat Bryan Station earlier in the regular season that year, and Station never lost again till St. X
