  1. McDonald was out sick. Miller had 2pts, Devoto didnt play (misprint in paper). Andy Miller was sensational on the boards. NCC got huge minutes from Evan Morse, who took big time advantage of his opportunity. Seibert, Beuter and Hightchew played really well. Congratulations to the Breds. 3 big wins this week as Lawnboy said. Momentum heading into the All A and a possible huge showdown with Holy Cross.
  2. His son isaiah is going to be a good one. He is strictly freshmen right now. Drew Mcdonald and Zack Pangallo are the only 2 freshmen playing JV/Varsity. They will both start JV and get good varsity minutes. Freshmen class is very good. Freshmen will be very strong even without them.
  3. I'm hearing Bobby Mullins is a strong candidate.
  4. I dont think the NCC coaching believes they dont need Hightchew to win this week. They should win this game but they wont take Lloyd lightly. If Hightchew can play he will. NCC needs to start strong the rest of the year if they want to advance and have a shot at another State title. Breds 42 Lloyd 14
  5. Thoughts and prayers for Jesse Orth. Awful injury to a very tough kid
  6. Great freshmen game. Wonder Coach Floyd said at halftime. Whatever was said surely worked. Does this set up a Dixie/Boone Championship?
  7. Heard this announced last night at the game. Breds moved to 4-1 on the season. Future is bright on the hill. Junior, Sophomore, Freshmen and Jr high classes are strong. :thumb:
  8. Sounds like both teams came out injury free. Both teams played hard and clean and NCC showed a lot of class. JV kids got a ton of minutes and the freshmen actually played the last 8 minutes. Coach Eviston had his 1's out towards the tail end of the 2nd quarter. Great crowd on hand. Good luck to both teams the remainder of the year. Btw- in the prediction thread I predicted NCC 63 Brossart 0.....One missed extra point from hitting it on the nose.
  9. Misinformed by the WV administration. If anything WV will be the haunted ones.
  10. Obviously, Brossart is way more concerned with NewCath than vice versa. Newcath isnt concerned with their overall record against one particular school. They are more concerned with winning regional & state titles. Maybe Brossart should concern themselves more with finding a way to beat the likes of Scott in basketball, Harrison Co in baseball and everyone else in their path to get to a regional title. They claim they tell kids "Come here to play for Championships", well that should obviously be the motto for NewCath because that is all they do. Regional titles should come much easier in the 10th region than they do the 9th. Normally the 10th region will have 1-2 teams that have a legitimate shot to win a regional title in baseball and basketball where as the 9th region has 6 of the 8 with legit shots. Getting back to the topic at hand, NCC wins this game very easily, the starters play the first half at the most and the underclassmen finish it up. Knowing Coach Eviston and his staff they will never humiliate Brossart or anyone else, they respect their opponents and the game of football too much. Let's hope we hear a huge "USA" chant from both sides as we honor the men and women of our armed forces. NCC 63 Brossart 0
  11. If Trinity runs the tables this year with their schedule, they definitely need to be considered as the best ever. They could be rated the #1 team in the Nation by seasons end.
  12. Congratulations to Coach Campbell and the Eagles. Very impressive win!
  13. Scott was overmatched. Breds led 9-0 after one and 22-0 at half. Score could have been worse, NCC had a TD or 2 called back. Have to give the Eagles some credit though, they came out the 2nd half with some fire and played extremely hard. They just couldn't get much done on offense. Lot of players played well for NCC, they have some really good athletes on both sides of the ball. Breds go to 1-1 and Eagles 0-3. NCC 9 13 0 7- 29 Scott 0 0 0 0- 0
  14. Refs needing to pick up their game is an understatement. Coach Eviston is on the sidelines as the varsity coach and has every right to say something to the ref on a pathetic non call like that and is trying to fight for his future players. Crucial part of the game, with that 15yd personal foul NCC would have have another first down deep in Beechwood territory. BTW- Coach Eviston was talking to the ref and was not screaming at him at all, I hate when people go on hear talking junk when they have no idea what they are talking about.
  15. Breds looked ok for first game. Couple of big plays doomed the Breds. 7-6 game at half. BW ran Td first play from scrimmage in the second half. Then scored on a long pass play in the 4th. BW has a really nice freshmen team, huge D line. Proud of the NCC kids for fighting to the end. I know these kids were gassed by the 3rd quarter but they continued to fight and never gave up. Kids showed a lot of heart. NCC was also without the services of one of their better players tonight who was out with an injury. Breds will be fine. Good Luck to both teams the rest of the year, hopefully they will meet again in the playoffs.
  16. NCC was very impressive. They basically walked up and down the field and the only real Dixie score was a kickoff return. Not surprised Newcath won but very surprised at the margin of victory. Zeke Pike playing wouldn't have made much difference in this game. NCC totally dominated the game up front on both sides of the ball. Congratulations to Coach Eviston, his staff and the Breds on a very impressive first win of the season.
  17. Breds have 16 on freshmen. Low numbers but I hear team is very athletic. Good Jr High players coming in behind them.
  18. Maybe the KHSAA made a mistake letting him transfer, maybe they didn't. Bottom line he is a great kid who had a spectacular senior baseball season. He will always be a friend to all the coaches and players. He is a graduate of NCC and will always be part of the NCC family. People can say what they want, his decision came down to Beechwood and NCC. Cain and Kelly had a huge impact on his decision, they have been friends for years. By the way, Coach Schulkens isnt "in charge" of the 9th region either. People need to get their facts straight!
  19. I have watch HC play several times this year and that Callery kid is one of the top catchers in the 9th region.
  20. Vance Sullivan got the win. Jake Cain got the save. Sullivan hit a solo HR in the 1st, Breds down 5-1 in 5th, Luke Schmits hit a huge 3 run homer to cut it to 5-4. Jake Cain hit a towering 3 run HR in the top of the 6th to put the Breds up 7-5. Breds now face the winner of Reidland/Owensboro Catholic next Saturday in Lexington at Whitaker Field (old Applebees field). Congratulations to Coach Schulkens and his team on the big win.
