Breds move on to the All A championship.

Mustang- NCC hasn't played their first game yet. They play McNicholas on Monday. St. Henry defeated Campbell Co. 9-8 earlier in the week.

3rd straight MVP for Kellen Smith. Quite an accomplishment for that young man.

NCC beat Highlands, Ryle, Scott, SK, Boone, Cooper. Not too shabby! Breds are 14-7, very tough first round matchup with Ryle. Tournament is very wide open. CovCath is the favorite. They are 20-2 with no losses to NKY teams. Highlands, SK, Conner, NCC and Ryle are sleepers who might sneak up and win it. Scott is the defending champion and you cannot rule them out either.

afi- sounds like you needed to pay more attention to the game and not worrying so much about the NCC bench. Give it a rest. I know for a cold hard fact Coach Brannen doesnt use foul language in practice, I actually verfied this with someone very close to the action. Clyde is right, it is always something when CC loses. Refs, sick, back hurt. TDFred is right in all phases. NCC shut them down and held Losey and McGovney to 11pts. Pretty good game plan and defense and when they had to play man to man defense NCC scored at least 6-7 straight possessions. Game over!

Campbell was one and done. They have no inside game. They fouled because Giesler was tough to handle and Newcath guards played very well. I also didnt see anything wrong with either coach or their antics. Coaches get emotional and I'm sure they all say things they regret or act inappropriately at times. Newcath guarded very well last night. Lets give them some credit for their game plan on Losey and Mcgovney. Officiating was very poor the whole game, on both ends.

By the way I talked to a current Brossart coach last night. He said it was a joke the way the coach acted. Told the kids at half time with the score 30-6 that their goal was to score 60. Onside kick was ridiculous, going for 2 was ridiculous. APTR I don't need to make allegations there are a ton of people who are sick about the classless calls friday night. Coach Reinhart and his staff have won a few more games this year by beating Caverna, Betsy Lane etc. I'm sure they work as hard as most coaching staffs but there is a way to win with class and they obviously need to learn about that.

I dont care what the Dayton players were saying or doing. You have to win with class. Eagle for Life Brossart is not a tough draw at all. No one on this side is crying either. It was totally classless. Like I said, Good Luck in 2A next year.

Coach Reinhart better learn to win with class soon. Some of his decisions tonight were disgraceful. No need to go into detail, anyone who attended the game knows what I am talking about. Good Luck next year in 2A. You better hope your district foes don't treat you the same or worse.

The league directors need to get rid of that rule. Let the coaches coach and make adjustments. Are the kids really getting prepared for high school with that rule?

Breds looked uninterested. Coaching staff didnt look very happy. Very good games from Cain, Kelly, Thacker and Morse. Doyle had 3 picks to itch closer to the interception record. Breds need to wake up and take every game like it is a playoff game.

Breds played a great game again this week. Zack Pangallo continues to impress at quarterback. He ran in a score and threw a TD pass to Leo Barth and Brandon Gray. Breds other scores came on a TD run by Logan Neff and a blocked punt and return by Brandon Gray. Breds defense was great again all the way around. Josh Schneider and Nate Enslen had great games at DB as well as Pangallo at safety. They continually pressured Brossart QB's with Jon Harris, Logan Lawson, Brent Moore, Collin Hoover, Brandon Gray, Luke Kues and Leo Barth. GREAT JOB BREDS!

Breds were up 40-0 at the half. NCC is a very good team. Defense is yet to be scored on. Great games tonight from both offensive and defensive lines. Leo Barth catches a 60yd TD

Newcath freshmen are going for a 3 peat and Boone County's JV are trying to repeat. Was told this morning that Newcath is 15-3 on the year. All 3 losses by one run. A possible 2nd round match with CovCath would be something to see. NCC beat CovCath 8-3 in their first matchup and CovCath took the last two games by identical 2-1 scores.

Deno and Doyle both pitched very well. NCC played small ball and scored 4 runs in the 4th. Brady Gray got the win for the Breds in relief of Brian Doyle. With 2 outs in the 7th, Gray hit a single followed by a Chris Kelly single. Nate Seibert hit a soft grounder to 3rd that was thrown wildly to first allowing pinch runner Tyler Lampe to score from second base. Decent game by both teams. Any word on the injury to Boone 2nd baseman Doug Teegarden? He hurt his wrist covering first on a Newcath bunt, wild throw made him come up line and Newcath baserunner hit his glove hand. He stayed in the game but was in obvious pain.

Sorry, forgot about the HHS game. Conner is very solid. Right now the top 3 teams have to be: Dixie, Ryle and Conner. Should be a fun and exciting year.

Who really cares if NCC or anyone else move their freshmen to JV? It's called a freshmen baseball team for a reason. If there is no need to move freshmen up and use 8th graders then most "private" schools do not do it. This year is the first time Holy Cross has ever had to use 8th graders. Public schools cut freshmen and keep 8th and sometimes 7th graders. This would never fly at a private school because of the kids paying tuition. Which if you really think about it means that most public schools field the best team available at the varsity, jv and freshmen levels. Private schools like Holy Cross, NCC, St. Henry are limited to who they cut and when they move kids up and use 8th graders.

Conner goes 1-0, Breds 0-2 on young season. 2 of the top 5 teams in the region. NCC struggling at the plate early in the year. Cain threw the ball well for the Breds. Pitched 4 strong innings. Taken out for pitch count. Good Luck to both teams. Two well coached teams.
