I am glad to see that some still consider Scott in the 9th region.

Note:

This is not a Ninth Region Freshmen Tournament as Simon Kenton and Scott are not in the Ninth Region.

CovCath is only Hosting this Tourney as it is indeed run by the Freshmen Coaches themselves.

From what I understand everybody is invited to play but only 16 teams signed up to play this season.

CovCath and NCC were seeded as the big and small school each have one team seeded.

CovCath was given the highest seed based on CovCath defeating NCC head to head.

Please see post 5

Great tourney, steeped in tradition. Good to see they kept it around.

Who wins this tournament? Should be a dandy.

Are these game listed in bracket order? For example, does the winner of CCH/Holy Cross play the winner of Beechwood/Scott and then the winner of Holmes/St. Henry plays the winner of Highlands/SK, etc.?

Isn't Brossart (22-1?) the best freshman team in NKY? Wonder why they aren't playing in this tournament.

My guess it has to do with the "All A" but that is just a guess.

BTW CovCath was 19-2 this season with losses to only Lexington Catholic and Louisville St. Xavier.

Based on the above posts I would assume they were invited. If they were, then that is a question for the coaches and AD at Brossart.

The top of the bracket looks loaded. Cov Cath, Highlands, St. Henry and Scott all have nice teams. I understand that Ludlow has some really nice Frosh players who play a bunch of JV and are very talented. Dont be surprised to see them knock off Cooper in the bottom half.

If I had to go off of what I hear and have seen I would expect the final Four to be Cov Cath/Highlands and Ryle/Dixie.

After watching Highlands just work Conner yesterday by 27 pts 60-33 I am very impressed and 5 of those guys have played a bunch of JV minutes as well in Houliston, Buten, Hergott, Hope and Greene. Throw in Schweitzer (huge), Harris(most physical 9th grader I have seen) and a few others that have talent coming off the bench I think they can reach the finals. The finals could be that top half Semi though if they get to meet Cov Cath.

Yes! The winner of the CovCath vs Holy Cross game indeed plays the winner of the Beechwood vs. Scott game.

The reason for the times on Saturday Feb 5th was some teams could only play at certain times and so the Coaches worked it out amongst themselves to please everybody. Congrats indeed to all the gentlemen in the room who worked hard to make it work out for everybody.

I made the bracket from TOG's posts. Please let me know if I made any mistakes and I'll correct them.
