Breds dominate Camels in all phases. Giesler with another huge game. 12pts, 17 rebounds and 7 blocks. Hightchew, Bueter and Doyle with real nice games as well. Thought the Breds would be tired after the CovCath game last night but they were ready and well prepared for this game.

Hightchew and Bueter played very well.

McGovney and Losey combine for only 11 points for Campbell County? It's impossible for CC to compete if that happens.

Michael Beuter is a very smart player and only a soph. Nice to see him doing well he's a great kid from an outstanding family.

I was shocked by two aspects of the game yesterday. I do not know if I have ever commented about refs on BGP. But, the two that worked the game yesterday did a very poor job. At this level, it amazes me why they run a two ref squad. The game was too quick for these two to keep up and the calls that were made were very one-sided to the Breds favor.

 

The second thing that shocked me was the behavior of the NCC coach. I would never let my son play for this man. He yelled expletives constantly and beraded the refs (perhaps why the calls were one-sided). Yet, the only technical given was to a Campbell player.

 

With that said, Geisler is a solid player and the Breds won the game. Camels will live to fight another day.

I gurantee they would get more kids out for the program and they would play harder. Like I said, after Geisler is gone this program may in for some hard times over the next couple years.

This has been a common theme in Newcath games this year...especially with how physical Geisler is down low at both ends.

Afi100guy- are you serious? The main complaint Coach Brannen had was the "none" goal tending call when the Campbell player pulled the rim down while the ball was going in. You are way out of line saying he yelled expletives and beraded the refs. What a joke? Calls were far from one sided. Bottom line is this. Campbell played a 3-2 zone because they couldnt guard NCC man to man. When NCC got up and forced them to play man to man the game was over. Newcath abused their man to man defense. The only thing Campbell could do was foul them because they couldnt guard them. As for Coach Brannen, the kids love to play for him, they respect him and future Thoroughbreds are really looking forward to playing for him. He gets on refs when he should but never berades them. Campbell player got a t for using an expletive that is an automatic "T". i was sitting right there. You obviously have a personal problem with Coach Brannen because things you are saying about him are completely false. Qryche11-program is in good hands at all levels. Ncc had huge numbers this year for tryouts. I'm quite sure Coach Pangallo would agree that the program is in good hands with Coach Brannen and he is a better coach today because of him.

They will obviously miss Giesler when he is gone but the Breds will be fine. They have a great program and another very nice group coming in next year. All is fine on the hill, I guess it does get old getting a beat down from a small school year in and year out in every sport.

NCC has a great team, enjoyed watching them roll over at Lloyd tourney. It is extremely difficult to play them at home and I agree with the combination of the coach working the refs and the physical play Giesler brings underneath makes them very tough.

 

As far as the 9th goes I would put them @2 at the moment trending toward number 1. Hang on to your hats this 9th is something else this year and the camels should be happy they are not in the 9th.

Yes.....so much easier to go to play on Mason County home floor and have a top 5 team like GRC sitting in your region.

It's funny people say that, but the coaches on his staff love him. He is getting the best out of his team, and has put together some great gameplans this year. Like you said, at times they are a two man show and he has them beating CovCath, Holmes, and now CC by 18.

 

Also, if NewCath isn't being outathleted, they are getting the benefit of all of the calls. Eventually somebody on here will say that NewCath deserved to win and actually has a good team.

My only comment would be that Coach Brannen is well respected by his club and their consistent advancing to the 9th Region tournament is a testament to this.
