Pile Driver
What was a close game turns into big Wildcat win. Brossart was stopped on 4 attempts from the one yard line before the half which could have made it 21-14. Instead Newport holds and carries the momentum into the second half. Brossart loses senior QB Jesse Orth to a pretty serious injury and had to be taken off the field by stretcher. A Brossart player said it was a dislocated hip. After that, it was all Newport. By the way, Brossart sported PINK jerseys in the game tonight for Cancer awareness. Good gesture on their part, but they were just plain ugly! StickerMann
Good win for the Wildcats!! Good job by the Mustangs to not quit down 28-7 when starting QB Jessie Orth went down and out by ambulance early 3rd period--Hoping he's OK, as it sounded like a serious hip/upper leg injury. 3rd/4th string Frosh QB (backups already injured) took over and led them to 2 TD's. Speedy back for Newport (forgot the name) had a huge night, and the 'Stangs couldn't solve him all night. Game was the "Tackle for the Cure" fund raiser for breast cancer awareness. Mustang's interview with "Chicks & Chucks" Breast Cancer Awareness Group's Cathy Hollaran at halftime puts HS sports in perspective!! Great job Newport HS and BBHS!! IrishBreds44
Was this the only game that did Breast Cancer Awareness or did most/all teams support it tonight?
Mustang
Was this the only game that did Breast Cancer Awareness or did most/all teams support it tonight? Highlands/Ryle will be a Breast Cancer Awareness game although it is highly unlikely that those two macho teams will be wearing pink - lol! futurecoach
Highlands/Ryle will be a Breast Cancer Awareness game although it is highly unlikely that those two macho teams will be wearing pink - lol! Newport also helped support this by wearing pink socks, and some even bought pink towels and bands for the game. It was a great thing for both teams to do this, and was just a great idea. mexitucky
Cathy has really been a spearheaded in Campbell Co and the greater Cindy area in raising funds as well as awareness for breast cancer research. She is a special woman. My family and I love her much.

Mustang
Any word on how Jesse Orth is doing? Jesse was released from Children's Hospital on Saturday which is an indication that there are no further complications surrounding the dislocated hip sustained Friday night. Pile Driver
What does Brossart do now? Do you play a 3rd string freshman or move an experienced skill kid to that position?
