rjs4470 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Scott has a manageable schedule and is much deeper than they have been in the past. Many sophomores are playing significant minutes. They have a legit chance to finish at or above .500 and will cause people problems in the years to come.

Eagle2013 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Newport really really needs to stop playing musical chairs at the QB position. It's very evident that Garland is the best QB on the team. I know he doesn't like playing the position but him under center gives Newport its best chance of winning. Didn't help not having Washington on the field last night. Scott is extremely young. They start 4 Soph's, 4 Jr's and 3 Sr's on offense and on defense with many more Soph's in the rotation. Scott should get better each week and maybe with a little luck will have a winning record this season.

Right now with the line not giving the QB much time, #9 definitely is better just because of his feet and how quick he is. If the line can protect just to give that #7 more time then that gives Newport it's best offense with #7 because they could do so much more then with him and opens up the whole offense. With that #9 it limits their playbook, but however at the moment #9 does get the offense going more. Scott played hard, and made the plays when it counted. They are definitely doing a really good job up there at Scott this year.
