In all honesty, I think NCC did what we all thought they would do. They crushed a Brossart team who is their geographical rival and not competitive rival in football. Brossart will get there one day, unfortunately they are going to have to battle through lumps like this one to get there. Is this devastating to the Brossart football program? No. Its a team with seasoned football players verse a team with guys who are trying to figure out this game. Time is all they need.

 

Congrats to NewCath! I hope everyone kept a good head on their shoulders tonight and also I hope that each team came out of this injury free.

I wouldn't quite say they had trouble keeping the score down, but they certainly didn't try to run it up either. Rather vanilla all night running mainly sweeps and simple dive plays, with a few passes mixed in early. BB defense put up little resistance, and NCC's line dominated the game throughout. BB "O" actually showed some signs of life on several drives, even early when it was 1's vs. 1's; but couldn't seal the deal with a score. Classy showing by all appearances; despite some of the rhetoric on here, the kids played it hard & clean. Didn't see any woofing or pushing & shoving--Dominant performance by the superior team. Best of luck to both the remainder of the season, and good luck to the 'Breds in defending their title!!

Brossart looked well coached and had some very nice looking players.

The difference bn the two was line play, well the main difference. Brossart has to learn to tackle better. Their angles really must improve before their next district game. NewCath appeared overall to be much faster on the line and were able to penetrate at will. Better first half this week from the Breds.

Sounds like both teams came out injury free. Both teams played hard and clean and NCC showed a lot of class. JV kids got a ton of minutes and the freshmen actually played the last 8 minutes. Coach Eviston had his 1's out towards the tail end of the 2nd quarter. Great crowd on hand. Good luck to both teams the remainder of the year. Btw- in the prediction thread I predicted NCC 63 Brossart 0.....One missed extra point from hitting it on the nose.

Good game by NCC, I was really impressed by BB's QB tonight. Took a lot of hits in the first half and threw a pic on a drive where they were moving the ball down the field. He kept his head up and kept playing hard. Props to him and the rest of the BB team for not giving up in a one-sided game. Good luck to them in the rest of the season. And to NCC on their quest to repeat.

NC showed class which is no surprise. Brossart did as well. Many times in a game like this there are cheapshots by the trailing team and there was none of that last night. As expected both teams went about their business and played hard. It was nice to see the game played and put the silly pregame rants on this site behind both schools.

Stop patting yourself on the back and stick to basketball coach.

Had a very nice night. NewCath showed again why it is a top rate program top to bottom. BB need to do nothing but tackle in practice for the rest of the year. I know some teams do not hit is practice and it works, I do not know what the Mustangs do but they seem to be very slow and worried about hitting and getting hit. That is the biggest problem I saw other than size, speed, and football talent. They do have some athletic kids on the field just look like deer in headlights. I think in 15 years or so BB will have a chance. It all starts when the kids are little boys. That is where the fire and desire starts, just take a walk in the Ft. Thomas and you will see what I am talking about.

I would agree with that. Brossart has a lot of great athletes; just not many football players. Give the Colts time to develop and the wins will come for the Mustangs.

It is great that NCC's JV players were able to get so much playing time , nothing like real game experience especially for the defense . Congratulations Breds !!!
