My brothers and I will be having our first family Thanksgiving since Mother passed away three years ago. I am really excited about this!

Prayers for strength for cville and his family. OldRambler, my prayers are with you as well. It is hard to see a true friend go thru such a painful time.

My girls put up a Christmas tree today in their apartment. They sent me a pic on the cell phone, then called and wanted to know when I was putting up my decorations. I told them I thought I'd wait until they were home for Thanksgiving and we'd do it then. I have one tradition that I think is unique: We begin using Christmas dinnerware on Dec. 1 and use it until Christmas day, when I pack it away. It adds to the anticipation and we all enjoy it. You should try it.

I read somewhere that Heigle (Izzy) was happy last season with her story line and asked to cancel her contract. She was in the middle of a few movies at the time also. They must have chosen to write her character off after this season. All of the above scenerios are making some sense now.

Cville, you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are just a phone call away if there is anything you or your family needs. Stay strong and know that God is in control. He will carry your through.

With the economy the way it is today, there are many middle class people with good jobs that are a mere 2 mortgage payments away from homeless. Even more that do not realize it.

My parents and grandparents are buried in a family cemetary and I suppose I shall be also some day. I put flowers on their graves on Memorial Day, as was the tradition when I was a child. Occasionally, on their birthdays or Mother/Father's Day, I will place a single rose on their grave. However, I do not believe in worshipping the grave site as my parents' souls are in heaven and not in the ground. I place flowers there as a symbol of respect and so that others know that they were loved while they were alive. It brings me no relief or less grief to visit the grave. Memories keep them alive in my heart forever.

My 19 yr old daughters asked me today to look for Mary Poppins on dvd as a Christmas present for them because it "is the best movie ever." I liked Monster's, Inc., Toy Story and Finding Nemo.

I agree. Russell is not down this year as many Russell fans are saying. They are a power in their class. Our Raceland team made some corrections and held on for the victory. This was very good win leading up to playoff games for our Rams.
